Rosie Tucker (LA) shares “Habit” single

About the track, Tucker shares: “Habit” aims to describe the process of coming to terms with and moving through feelings of regret. I can’t always hope to resolve painful interpersonal conflicts alongside the people those conflicts concern, and bitterness feels practical, and anger comes naturally, and I often employ both against painful loose ends, even when these mechanisms wear me down and diminish in usefulness. I’ve found that if I want freedom from the bad feelings then I have to seek out forgiveness of myself and others by whatever terms are available the minute I’m ready to let go. I guess the song is about trying to get free of guilt and regret, to move to a lighter place.

John Paul White debuts “The Long Way Home”

“It’s the one song that has the distinction of making my kids cry,” White notes of the song. “I didn’t see this song as tugging at any heart strings, but when I played it, especially for my 11 year-old, he was tearing up. Especially the line, ‘Don’t you dare kiss me goodbye’ in the bridge. That’s the one that always gets him. I didn’t see that coming, but he knows how much it hurts to leave. My kids know I have to play music, and they love that I do it. They’re very supportive, but thankfully they don’t want me to leave.”
