DIME – the Detroit Institute of Music Education recently hosted a master class with R&B / soul artist, Allen Stone, who was in Detroit for a show at the Majestic Café the night before. Stone performed two songs acoustically for students and guests (“Brown Eyed Lover” and “Taste of You”), and participated in a Q&A with DIME’s Head of Vocals, DeAnna Johnson. He also advised the aspiring musicians on how to navigate the music business and what life is like as a touring artist, as well as his experiences as a celebrity mentor on the latest season of American Idol, where he mentored two of the top 15 contestants, and his songwriting process.
