The Emerald Cup (the “Cup”), one of the cannabis industry’s premier culture and awards events, announced today the launch of Emerald Cup Charities, the philanthropic arm of the annual cannabis celebration. Emerald Cup Charities is donating a percentage of all Emerald Cup revenue from the 2018 event to Freedom Grow, this year’s feature organization. The Emerald Cup expects to raise $30,000 this year. Freedom Grow—an all-volunteer organization seeking to make a difference in the lives of non-violent people who have been imprisoned due to unjust cannabis-related laws—guarantees that 100 percent of the dollars donated to its organization will go directly to the prisoners of nonviolent, cannabis-related crimes.

At 12:33am local [Pesaro, Italy] time last night, Be Forest re-emerged with a cryptic post on Facebook. The acclaimed Italian shoegaze/post-punk band posted a smoke-shrouded video with the title “Atto I” to We Were Never Being Boring Collective’s YouTube page. It’s been over four years since the release of their last album Earthbeat… the video bears witness to a spectral vapor that materializes like a hybrid of smoke, steam and fog that invites the viewer/listener into the void.
“‘Rollercoaster’ to me is a tribute to something I believe we all experience at one point in our lives. A toxic but addictive relationship that has both very high-highs and very low-lows. It’s destructive but enjoyable,” explains Audien behind the meaning of the track. “Sometimes it’s nice to feel something vs. nothing at all, even if it slowly kills me. I wanted to capture this message with this song sonically, and Liam described it poetically. I’ll always look back at this song and remember what I was going through when I released it.”

Columbia Records and Three Six Zero Recordings has announced it will release the original motion picture soundtrack to the eagerly anticipated film VOX LUX on December 14. The acclaimed music drama stars Academy Award winner Natalie Portman as the troubled mega-pop star Celeste, chronicling her rise from the ashes of a national tragedy to pop superstardom through her eyes. Singer/songwriter Sia wrote the original songs for the film, including the track “Wrapped Up”, co-written by Greg Kurstin, featured in the mesmerizing new trailer for Vox Lux premiering today.
