SHIRA releases emotional tribute to her father “Home Is The Right Place For Love”
Shira says of the track: “Earth is the Right Place for Love came after my dad passed away. He was sick for 9 months and until the day he died my heart didn’t even consider that as a possibility. So when it actually happened I couldn’t believe it.

The first look at the new record arrives via The 405 who premiered lead single, “Frank” highlighting how the track “brings to light the grayer areas of sexuality and power often dismissed or reluctantly articulated by well-known LGBTQ artists.” Walker’s music is full of emotional complexities coupled with raw, hypnotic songwriting reminiscent of his heroes Jason Molina and Tom Waits.
How do you tell the story of a band? If you had to, there are worse places to start than with a place. In this case, Seattle, present day. The city is beset—or if you’re less inclined to doomsday thinking, enriched—by corporate interests. Neighborhoods that once housed artists, musicians, and weirdos of other stripes have become inhospitable. These people congregate in dive bars or out-of-the-way clubs or someone’s apartment. They drink cheap wine and talk about where they’ll go when they inevitably have to leave. In these dim corners, Spesh first took root. Today the four-piece share their sweet and nostalgic video for “Tomato Rose” (directed by Eleanor Petry) with KEXP. You can watch on YouTube.
