New video from rising Malian artist Fatoumata Diawara premieres at PRI The World; October West Coast dates set

Diawara notes that “‘Bonya’ means respect. This is the most important value that we need to cultivate. I feel like a universal Mother, so I do not worry only for myself, I also worry for our children. They are the adults of the future. The message of the video is that with respect we can solve most of our differences and give back the same.”

Van Goat – New Al bum ‘Follow Me Under’ LP

Follow Me Under, the five-piece’s debut full-length LP, pits thick bass lines against rhythmic trombone; pointed lyrics against verdant harmonies: bursts of liveliness in the first half against bursts of contemplation in the second. Side A, so to speak, is the dancing side, and Side B is the meditative side, but the entire LP creates a shindig all its own, plucking together influences both local and global and mashing them together in a cohesive and sophisticated exertion.

Thomas Newson and Sam Void Team Up for Danceable, Garage-Inspired House Track “Like That” on Protocol

Thomas Newson and Sam Void are back on Protocol with their dancefloor-friendly, dynamic house track “Like That.” Void teamed up with fellow Dutchman Thomas Newson for a record that breaks the traditional house mold with metallic percussion and UK garage-inspired synths, bringing the heat with a bouncy bassline that makes your body move. The Protocol veteran is still riding the wave from his recent release “Pressure” with Maximals, but this proves he doesn’t plan on resting anytime soon. The different sounds of “Pressure” – a vocal, progressive house gem – and “Like That” define both, Sam and Protocol as leaders at the forefront of the musical diversification going on in modern electronic music. Both Void and Newson will be part of the “Nicky Romero Presents: Protocol x ADE ’18” during the label’s annual showcase at ADE this year, so make sure to witness the magic of their live performances if you’re planning to attend. “Like That” is Thomas Newson’s 3rd release on the label (after 2014’s “Blizzard” and 2015’s “Black”)

Tsabz – ‘Find Yourz’

“Find Yourz” by Tsabz follows a very simple structure that is refreshingly straight-forward and intuitive. More importantly, it really highlights Tsabz amazing vocal style, showcasing the artist’s willingness to experiment with new ideas and creative solutions. This song was written right after a break up. Tsabz describes, “As I was in the studio I was having writer’s block, so I just got on the mic and freestyled all my exact thoughts. I didn’t try to be poetic or rhyme I just sung how I felt.” She says the song is more of a feeling than it is a song. The song is called “Find Yourz” because this was her first time really letting loose and recording in a studio, it was her just finding her own voice not just out loud, but internally through singing on the mic.
