Jerry Paper shares new track/video “My God”

“When I wrote ‘My God’ I was thinking a lot about how money represents value but in the face of death it’s worthless. I thought about how funny it is to devote a life to amassing wealth beyond what one can use in this life (à la billionaire class currently running the American plutocracy). Making a song that was a snapshot of a world where money actually has value in the eyes of a God was so absurd that I couldn’t stop laughing and I had to do it. I thought about how Egyptian pharaohs were buried with their belongings to prepare for the afterlife, and decided to start the song with the narrator being buried with his receipts in order to keep an accurate tab. The video is a pretty faithful manifestation of the lyrics, and I think Steve did a great job.”

The idea to create an interactive music video was initiated by the four members of TOO SOON, Hugo Maury, Nicolas Loureiro, Yann Kubacki and Arnaud Rocca as their graduation project for the interactive design and development master of Gobelins Paris.
