Dolores Haze plead for us to ‘Play Hard Fuck Hard Love Hard’

SET AND SETTING: Florida Instrumentalists To Release Tabula Rasa Full-Length
SET AND SETTING merge instrumental rock with a thick metallic edge with elements of drone and ambient music, the end result rendering a “captivating, wordless, genre amalgam (Decibel).” Since their debut album Equanimity (2013), the quartet has been ceaselessly active throughout the underground and extreme music scenes in the US and Canada. In 2014, SET AND SETTING released their second album, A Vivid Memory, via Prosthetic Records and continued to tour internationally and locally with bands such as Mouth Of The Architect, Eyehategod, Inter Arma, and Kayo Dot. 2016 brought a tough year of writing and recording while battling injuries within the band thus limiting live performances. One year later however the band released Reflectionless. Stereogum championed a record of, “melancholic beauty suspended in the clouds with a birds-eye view of epic terrain…,” further hailing its, “soul-searing leads and shimmering, bending guitars that convey feelings of wonder and introspection.” Alternative Press concurred, “This quartet has a gorgeous and unexpectedly heavy sound.” The record led to SET AND SETTING’s first ever tour of Europe which includes an appearance at the renowned Dunk! Festival.

The world might have heard of Erosion a little sooner if the members weren’t busy sharing duties in a handful of other projects— Baptists, 3 Inches of Blood, and more. Stephen Martines “Sounds Like Whiskey”
On his new single, “Sounds Like Whiskey,” Martines taps into the vulnerability and mistakes that heartbreak often encompasses. His voice, smooth and aching, belts effortlessly over the soulful chords of the explosive chorus. The singer taps into the frustration and pain that comes with trying to let go of someone you love but are unable to find the words to tell them how you feel. A cool mix of pop, country and a hint of soul, the track houses everything that country music listeners love, from late-night phone calls in the dark to regrettable memories that are often times alcohol-induced, it’s the perfect song to kick off the often chill and more emotionally-inspired fall music season. Martines’ vocals remain the star of the show, but it’s his unique way of telling a story that takes center stage on this track, making “Sounds Like Whiskey” one of those melodies that linger in your mind long after the final chord fades out.

Santiago’s The Holydrug Couple returns with a new album
The Holydrug Couple’s latest single “Waterfalls” is a woozy, intoxicating ballad that reworks the feel of 60s and 70s psychedelia with modern production and dizzying synthesised textures.
Speaking about the track Ives Sepúlveda Minho explains: “I wrote a demo for this about two years ago, on a morning that I had a bad hangover. At the time I was really into this sort of melodic/chill-out, instrumental house music and Exile on Main St.-like ballads. It was the last song that I recorded on Hyper Super Mega and the lyrics are very abstract, they have metaphors of what it means to meet someone and fall in love.”
