CHRIS CORNELL STATUE UNVEILING CEREMONY AT MOPOP
On Sunday, October 7 Vicky Cornell and the Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP) will celebrate Seattle’s son, music icon and late Grammy® Award-winning singer/songwriter Chris Cornell with the public unveiling of a commemorative statue. Following the unveiling, footage of Soundgarden’s performance at The Wiltern, captured by the Artist Den, will be screened inside MoPOP’s Sky Church.
Since announcing plans for the statue, MoPOP and the Cornell family have received an overwhelming response from the community wanting to honor Chris’ life. The decision was made to move the statue unveiling from Wednesday, August 29 to Sunday, October 7 to accommodate crowds.

Nigerian/American artist Teeklef releases his single ‘Apart’ with accompanying lyric video on Jillionaire’s Feel Up Records.
The track is a perfect blend of pulsing Afrobeat rhythms and Teeklef’s Hip-Hop/R&B flow in which he seamlessly transitions between his Nigerian dialect and English.

On 24th August, House Gospel Choir release their highly anticipated first release on Island Records ‘Battle’, a re-work of UK Garage legend Wookie’s 2000 classic. The track features brand new production and instrumentation by Wookie himself, who personally approached the choir when he watched them perform it at Southport Weekender Festival. Wookie calls it’s “…a rare opportunity to be able to produce a cover of one my own records”. Honoured to collaborate on one of their favourite songs, House Gospel Choir say “It’s one of the first songs we learnt as a choir. It’s hard to put into words how much of a big deal it is to work with Wookie on our own version of this absolute classic.
