Kenny Chesney’s New Single: “Better Boat” featuring Mindy Smith

After the romping coming together in a divided world “Get Along” broke Billboard’s Country Airplay Chart record for the Most Country No. 1s by an artist, Kenny Chesney returns to country radio with the life-changing “Better Boat.” A song of grace in the face of humanity, it empowers without overpowering.

“Of all the songs on Songs for the Saints, ‘Better Boat’ really captures the emotion of that moment – and the months following Hurricanes Irma and Maria,” Chesney says. “There’s an acceptance it takes to face those challenges and all that uncertainty, something I know I’ve never seen in my lifetime.

“There’s a lyric that goes, ‘I ride the waves I can’t control…’ And that’s exactly how this was, and in some ways, still is.”

Opening with a gut string guitar part played by 9-time CMA Musician of the Year and acclaimed songwriter Mac McAnally, “Better Boat” drifts through consideration of the wreckage life can be, and the journey through vulnerability to acceptance and grace. Written by Travis Meadows and Liz Rose, it features the luminous voiced Mindy Smith, the very first winner of the Americana Music Awards New/Emerging Artist.

New Video: Transviolet – “Undo”

Taking inspiration from a quote by author Cynthia Occelli – “for a seed to achieve its greatest expression, it must come completely undone” – frontwoman Sarah McTaggart explains the video’s vision: “The idea behind the video was destruction and transformation: how sometimes in order to create something new, everything needs to come apart, and how beauty can be found in that vulnerable chaos.”

DEFY THE TYRANT Release Official Lyric Video for “VOICES”

Tallahassee, FL based Alternative Metal Band DEFY THE TYRANT has released the lyric video for their single, “VOICES.”

“Voices is one of the first songs we wrote with Curt (lead Singer) and it is Banging! We knew he had the pipes, but we didn’t realize the type of lyrics he was capable of. He blew us away! When people read the lyrics for the verses and the chorus, they will be able to get a good grasp on the mind Curt has. He has a completely fresh take on an age old issue. The idea of this constant secondary person that we all have inside us, this Id that we all deal with, its amazing how he put those ideas to song.” Defy the Tyrant

Shapes On Tape – “So Much”

When it’s Shapes on Tape, you know it’s all about the hooks. Written in a evening at their rehearsal studio, the song opens with dueling hooks that combine to be more than the sum of their parts. Adam lays down an earworm of a synth line that intertwines Jason’s instantly catchy guitar riff. Then Jason’s unique vocals deliver an impassioned ode to his pup, Lucinda, until Adam brings all back home on the bridge.

Archie Faulks releases debut single ‘It Rains’

Regarding the single Archie says, “I wrote ‘It Rains’ about a dying but once great relationship. All we do now is fight and get back together again; with the memories of the glory days being the only thing bringing us back to each other. The love is still there but I realise its no longer helping either of us, but rather taking over our days and nights with worry, anger and fear. It’s a love for things we did together and the feeling we gave each other, but not for the other person themselves. The song is the realisation of this but wanting to retreat to ‘our place’ and cling on for a few more days in the vague hope that we can regain an element of the past and not let us be washed away by the flood.”
