It was also just the beginning of a grand adventure. With the wind of her award at their backs, Gaelynn and her husband Paul sold their house in Northern Minnesota, quit their jobs, bought a van, and hit the road.

Kahiem Rivera Releases “Be Quiet, Pt. 2” EP

Brooklyn-born rapper, Kahiem Rivera returns with the second installment of his “Be Quiet” EP series. Recorded during many months of bedroom sessions in the early part of 2017, Kahiem dives deeper into his own psyche with stark, introverted lyrics and a restrained but effectual delivery. Handling the bulk of production himself, we hear him explore issues of identity, race, love, and sex with an intimacy rarely found in hip-hop. The sound is bigger here – more synth heavy than its predecessor — yet it still manages to maintain the same wounded honesty found on that first outing. As with his debut, Kahiem was stuck at home with a broken leg after a nearly fatal bicycle accident when he wrote and recorded these songs.

ASM’s (Alexandra Sauser-Monnig of Mountain Man) Debut Single ‘Fantasy Boyfriend’ Out Today

There’s a patience in the little things. The arc of sticky summers brimming and eventually cooling, grasses overgrowing before being cut to stubs, creeks rushing to an eventual trickle, night skies growing darker before dawn breaks. In stillness and in presence, these archetypes pervade our experience and teach us lessons as old as time and reflexive in every organism’s makeup. This clarity is present in every note of “Gem” and “Grasses,” the two songs that comprise Fantasy Boyfriend. Starting small on a creaky old guitar, a single voice in the air, these meditations were brought to life by Sauser-Monnig over the winter in a tiny house at the center of a creative commune. It’s a compass set, an intention stated, a window flung open to let the summer air in — buoyant, resilient, golden.

VISTA Premieres “Witch Hunt” Music Video

Fresh off the completion of their third US tour, “The Bloodlust Tour,” (final date TONIGHT in Brooklyn), alternative rock band VISTA are continuing their momentum with the release of a new music video for their latest single, “Witch Hunt.” The video, directed by Eric DiCarlo, highlights a main feature in VISTA’s established black and blue branding: their neon logo lights, an integral piece of their live shows. The performance-based video takes you on an intimate ride, capturing band members Hope Vista and Greg Almeida powerfully asking “how am I to know who to trust?” in a raw display of fear. Produced by Zack Odom and Kenneth Mount of ZK Productions (Mayday Parade, Set It Off, Chapel), the track (released 5/11) quickly became the band’s most-streamed song on Spotify, racking up 50,000+ streams in just 2 months. A surprise release, “Witch Hunt” is the band’s first music released since July 2017’s “Long Live,” their 7-track sophomore EP. After teasing fans with cryptic binary coding graphics, the track debuted worldwide on idobi radio just 3 hours before it was available on streaming platforms. “Witch Hunt” marries together electronic and alternative elements, the familiar core of VISTA’s unique sound, but also maintains a sensual and alluring energy throughout. “Witch Hunt”‘s blood-pumping chorus, sexually-tinged vocals, and drum-laden verses make the release a summer alternative hit to be reckoned with.

Yoko Ono Announces New LP, Shares “Warzone” Track | ‘Warzone’ LP Out Oct. 19th On Chimera Music

Following twenty albums over 50 years, Yoko Ono’s Warzone is strikingly different from any record she has made previously, but it is also strikingly different from any album that anyone is making…

Yoko revisits and reimagines 13 songs from her past work, spanning 1970-2009, the lyrics and messages still pertinent—perhaps even more pertinent—in 2018. “The world is so messed up. Things are very difficult for everybody. It’s a warzone that we are living in…” says Ono. “I like to create things in a new way. Every day things change.”
