The Frights Share New Single “There is No Place Like (Not Being) Home”

According to front man Mikey Carnevale “‘No Place Like (Not Being) Home’ is a love note to being on tour. I live in San Diego and I’m really happy about that, so leaving home to drink myself to death for months at a time can get depressing. Everybody who has ever toured has had the best time of their lives and the worst time of their lives all in one month. And then finally coming home and decompressing with the people you love. And drinking water again. Gotta hydrate baby.”

Indigo Girls’ New Video for “Go” Issues Inspiring Call To Action

Voting rights. Civil rights. Marriage equality. School safety. Gun reform. During each of America’s social movements, the voices of the young, old, and marginalized have galvanized to evoke a new and more progressive era. Indigo Girls give voice to that activist spirit in their song “Go,” an anthem borne out of their own experience of facing prejudice. The song, a stirring call to action that challenges the listener to “raise your hands high, don’t take a seat, don’t stand aside this time, don’t assume anything, just go” is as inspiring and relevant as when the song was written.

Bathed in the sparkles of disco ball light, Mirah recorded demos with vocals, guitar, organ, and percussion in a former army barracks gymnasium at The Headlands Center for the Arts, where she spent four weeks as an artist in residence.

James Rose “Lullabies to the Ocean”

Just like the title-track, Lullabies to the Ocean is an album dedicated to the ocean. After spending ten years in New Orleans, Rose began to crave the pacific coast. Looking for an opportunity to create a consistent change for the better, he made the journey home to California. The collection of songs symbolizes a huge life change in body, mind, and spirit. It’s about overcoming self-sabotage and finding the true nature of one’s being. Rose explains, “I have always found pleasure in the romance of being a writer and constantly working on something lost in another world. I love the idea of pens and notebooks and playing with words to create unique imagery symbolizing different aspects of human behaviour. Creating the music to accompany the feeling and movement of the words is 100% pure joy and it is one of the only true personal fulfilments of my life.”
