Billboard’s favourite Queer voice Sakima
Sakima is a producer, songwriter, pianist, and singer. Influenced by left-field electronic and R&B music, Sakima brings LGBTQ+ narratives to the pop music scene. Sakima’s music is, by some, viewed as controversial and risqué yet all he’s doing is destigmatising the Queer community.
He’s loud and proud about being Queer and openly challenges the heteronormative culture of popular music.
The video, which was directed by Toby Ross-Southall (Something American live videos, Jamie T, The Beach), was shot in a motel in Detroit and highlights a beautifully stripped back and solemn performance by Jade.
“Furious” follows breakout single, “Lottery,” which recently spent three weeks at #1 on Triple A Radio—the first new artist to reach the top of the Triple A chart in 2018. Jade also performed “Lottery” on “Later …with Jools Holland” and “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”
New Music – Nikhil shares ‘Love is a Liar’
Nikhil releases a live performance favourite ‘Love Is A Liar’, a stand-alone track on 1st June 2018 via East West/Warner Music. Produced by Jonathan Quarmby (Benjamin Clementine – At Least For Now) at London’s storied Rak Studios, the new song showcases Nikhil’s growing talent as both a song-writer and lyricist.
Speaking about ‘Love Is A Liar’, Nikhil says, “It’s really about those patterns we keep falling into in our relationships. When we’re getting out of a toxic relationship we always tell ourselves ‘never again’ – but that resolve somehow seems to be only fleeting – and we find ourselves in the same situations again and again. We’re fools for love, it’s a drug, and it can be painful but we’ll keep doing it… and that’s that.”
