Seinabo Sey “Breathe”

“Breathe” is a bold anthem drenched in quivering strings and a choir’s layered harmonies. Seinabo wrote its central message about self-love and self-acceptance while on an impromptu solo trip to Dakar, Senegal in early 2017. Feeling content, she found herself “sitting there, thinking about why I really enjoyed being there. I love it here because I don’t have to explain myself to people… I realised that as a black woman, so much of our time is spent explaining obvious things about our culture or ourselves, when she would rather just be.”

Chaouche’s heartbreaking hymns pack debut LP ‘Safe,’ out 6/15

Singer/musician/producer Aisha Chaouche is set to release debut album ‘Safe’, a deeply emotional document of heartbreaking and spine tingling hymns that have helped bring peace to traumatic events experienced earlier in her life. Her delicate piano playing features prominently and is bolstered by balanced production of her own massed vocals, programmed drums, sub-bass, cello, violin and an obsession with reverb and delay.

The Band of Heathens To Release New EP “Live Via Satellite” On April 27th

The Band of Heathens made a giant leap with their last full length album Duende, which landed on Rolling Stone’s top 50 Americana and Country Albums of 2017 at #31 – “It’s only natural that the Band of Heathens – a tireless touring outfit – made one of the year’s best driving records.” Touring the United States and Europe relentlessly to support the release last year, they found themselves at SiriusXM’s satellite radio headquarters in New York City in January of 2017 to perform songs from Duende live in the studio for a recorded session on the Outlaw Country channel. They also offered an incendiary cover of the classic Neil Young song “Alabama” which they wryly dedicated to U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions on air (and received a pile of hate mail for doing so) and delivered a touching version of the Dave Rawlings’ (Dave Rawlings Machine/Gillian Welch) ballad “Ruby”.

Lowly Share New Track “Wood”

As remarkable as their music is, Lowly only came together as a band in 2014, having met at the musical academy in Aarhus, Denmark. Despite all five members being involved in different studies, and having their own pre-existing endeavors, Nanna Schannong (lead vocals, guitar), Soffie Viemose (lead vocals, laptop), Kasper Staub (synthesisers), Thomas Lund (bass, Moog) and Steffen Lundtoft (drums, percussion) soon found common musical ground; a restlessly inventive and exquisitely melodic sound that refutes easy categorization.
