MOBS return with new single – Some Kind of Wonderful

In 2018, 80’s retro is back in a big way. It’s the year the Michael Jordan inspired Air Jordan 10 shoe marks its return and Crocodile Dundee once again graced Australia’s tourism ads. It seems the world just can’t get away from 80’s nostalgia, which is fruitful for Melbourne four-piece, MOBS to pave their way for their single ‘Some Kind Of Wonderful’.

Lyrically, ‘Some Kind Of Wonderful’ is based on the 1987 John Hughes film of the same name. Where their October 2017 release ‘Say Anything’ was the band’s take on an 80’s power ballad, ‘Some kind of wonderful’ is an anthemic 80’s styled power pop tune.

ELEON ANNOUNCES AUSTRALIAN RELEASE OF DEBUT SINGLE IF IT AIN’T ME

American newcomer Eleon is thrilled to announce the Australian release of his debut single, If It Ain’t Me, following the global success of the modern electro-soul track, set for release in Australia on April 27.

If It Ain’t Me is a heady track, evocative of the cool pop sounds of ZAYN, but it also harks back to a classic soul feel as well – and that’s what makes Eleon so unique. Those sultry vocals dip effortlessly in and out of skillful falsetto amongst a clever arrangement of dazzling guitar riffs, a pulsing synth, fizzy hi-hats, heavy hitting kicks and current trap-influenced production. It’s subtle, but those melodic hooks are undeniable. This unique track was produced by Eleon’s collaborator, genius musical enigma Kubla Kahn (Wiz Khalifa, Nicki Minaj, Jason Derulo, Akon, Frank Ocean) and it has amassed a remarkable critical response worldwide with support from the likes of DJ Booth, Revolt, Hilly Dilly, aipate.com, KRXM Killjoy Radio and more.

FIFTH DAWN’s New Single ‘Defying Symmetry’ is out now

“This song is quite interesting conceptually – I was having a lot of lucid dreams at a point in my life due to various stressors, and with that came an unsettling, warped reality that became my constant dream state. In other words, I would often dream about things or settings in real life that would appear completely backwards when I would dream, and it was just so bizarre. That’s where I intended the music video to capture a lot of that imagination and feeling trapped within a dream.” – Samantha Faul

Ricardo Bacelar’s Sebastiana – Celebrating the Music of Brazil

From the heart of Brazil comes a musical experience which is far more than a collection of songs. The band’s Karnig Manoukian says: “It’s not unusual for a song like this to write itself. A song that illuminates the painful sides of love that are easy to overlook, especially when something beautiful is looking you in the eyes. This song captures what it’s like to be on the dangerous side of the gun we call love. “Like A Drug” is about every failed escape that brings you that much closer to the thing you know you should be running from. I think most people can relate to the feelings of a toxic relationship in some way or another. That’s what makes the theme of this song so universal.

It was inspired by a relationship I had in Louisville that started in Shawnee Park and without warning phased out. It’s also inspired by Toro Y Moi’s “L to Leave”.
