“Cruel World” is a full-fledged Johnny Cash-inspired “F-U” to life and its misfortunes–it’s more than just angry in its lyrics; it’s downright ornery. It just reminded us of the old school way that radio used to discover bands.”

Harmonies. That’s what Christmas songs are all about for music legend Brian Wilson. From the seminal 1964 classic The Beach Boys’ Christmas Album to his acclaimed 2005 solo effort What I Really Want for Christmas Wilson has been bringing holiday cheer to the world for more than five decades.
This holiday season, for the first time Wilson and his crack band of musicians and vocalists along with long time bandmates Al Jardine and Blondie Chaplin will be performing the Christmas Album in its entirety along with cuts from his solo Christmas album and other holiday fan favorites.
Of the song and video Billboard describes it as “an intimate journey from doubt to resolve and implied triumph, the “A Voice” video is, in fact, a microcosm of those emotions she felt going into the making of Old Fashioned Gal…smarting from some negative criticism, especially about her own distinctive, reedy voice, that she received for 2014’s The Big Picture, Edmonson used the new material as a creative pep talk to help her move forward.”
Deorro Teams Up With Australian Duo SCNDL on Heavy-Hitting New Release “Sonar”
Since introducing his new “hard bounce” style sound last year, Deorro has hardly paused in his steady stream of successful releases on imprints like Panda Funk and Dim Mak. His latest release is the heavy-hitting “Sonar” with Australian duo SCNDL, which combines the best elements from both Melbourne bounce, hardstyle and drum’n’bass. Synthesized piano chords comprise the dreamy, digital breakdown that leads to a frenzied, high-energy bassline that makes “Sonar” an absolute dance floor slayer. “Sonar” is certainly not for the faint of heart, but this is one track that will be on constant rotation at festival stages and clubs this summer. SCNDL’s penchant for top notch electro productions complements Deorro’s bouncy, dynamic style, so we hope this first collaboration will be one of many more. If you’re one of the many music lovers descending upon Palm Springs this April, catch Deorro’s set at Coachella and the Day Club at the Hilton’s pool party on April 14th.

STAL EXPLORES THE WONDERS OF FATE ON NEW SINGLE “MAGIC”
Los Angeles band STAL has released “Magic” the third single from their Fresh Blood EP due out this summer, produced by Eric Palmquist (Night Riots, Bad Suns, Mutemath) and STAL mastermind Pierre Marie-Maulini. “Magic” is an autobiographical song. Maulini is convinced that he was not meant to find his soulmate, since they are from completely different cultures and were raised on opposite sides of the world. But as fate would have it, they found each other. The song captures that feeling and that intangible thing that happens when two people are meant to be. It’s not science, it’s “Magic.”
PopMatters premiered the video today, adding, “While it opens up with a line as harrowing as ‘every day starts with a terrible dream,’ the song ultimately raises our spirits and reminds us that we are better together than divided. Its accompanying music video…is an ode to both the beautiful and tumultuous threads that tie America together.” The “America’s Open Roads” video can be viewed/shared at the link below, and Everywhere I Go is available for preorder now via New West Records.
