“Crystal Clear” is a newly released track from Nebraskan act Shy Spell

Shy Spell is a music project from an artist with extensive playing experience on the Los Angeles live circuit, now based in the Lincoln/Omaha, Nebraska area. One day, he stumbled upon a free piano from Craigslist, meant for someone else. “I kept walking by it everyday, then moved it to an unattached garage, still walking by it and never touching it,” Shy Spell explains. “Then one day I stopped, sat down and started playing. Immediately the songs started flowing. I recorded them on my phone so i wouldn’t forget them, but it was overwhelming to organize them, and I couldn’t keep up. At the same time friends were still encouraging me to write again; one even advised me on equipment that I needed to get going again. It turns out the technology was a perfect fit for me. So I got started, and wrote and recorded 16 songs in a year. I put 12 on this album, and saved 4 for the next album, which is well underway.”
