Fast-rising Irish artist Dermot Kennedy will release a remix of his single “Moments Passed”, which has received a special treatment from producer Mike Dean (Kanye West, Jay Z, Travis Scott, Desiigner). Dean maintains Dermot’s hauntingly beautiful melodies on the remix and adds his signature production work, bringing to the forefront Dermot’s love for blending hip hop nodes and acoustic music. Dean was left suitably impressed after collaborating with Dermot:
“Always love finding up and coming artists to work with—especially when their sound is a bit different of a lane from what I’m currently working on. Dermot’s lyric delivery really pops on the original, and in a way with the remix, we created a new version of the song where his vocal really has room to breathe.” — Mike Dean
Madilyn Bailey Releases New Song “Tetris” Today
On the new track, Madilyn says, “Tetris is a song I wrote about how two completely different people with completely different backgrounds, quirks, passions AKA “shapes” can come together to make one beautiful picture. I think at times we all need to be reminded that in a relationship it’s not about being perfect but about how we can complement each other, imperfections and all.”
The clip intercuts footage of timeless American icons and political movements from decades past, working all the way up to pop culture references of today. The biting and brilliant lyrics offer a stark clash to the visuals, transmitting a powerful statement in the process. It’s the perfect cinematic supplement to the track’s eighties-style synths, propulsive beats, and guitar echo. As provocative as it is potent, it only hints at the vast depth of ONR.
Fischerspooner’s new LP ‘Sir’ out now + share new video
Iconic art-pop group Fischerspooner release their first album in nearly a decade, Sir, today via Ultra Records. Entirely produced by Michael Stipe, the album presents a resistant narrative with an overtly queer and celebratory body of work in response to the current atmosphere in America. The collection of erotically-charged, yet profound songs was crafted by Spooner and Stipe at Michael’s home in Athens, GA, alongside Michael’s close collaborator Andy LeMaster. It also features additional production by BOOTS (Beyonce, Run The Jewels, FKA Twigs) and mixing by both Stuart White (Beyonce’s Lemonade) and Andy LeMaster. In addition, it features contributions by Spooner’s longtime collaborator Le Chev, as well as Thomas Haskett.
“The song’s roaring beat is as inspiring as Topf’s personal inspiration for it, and in putting out the song” – Billboard
Frøkedal teases album 2 with new single ‘Believe’
Eloquently manoeuvring her way around chugging guitars and swirling strings, Anne Lise Frøkedal appears to be highlighting the importance of believing blindly in oneself, almost a pep-talk: “And you’re all trying to take care of me / Is it kindness? Is it tyranny? / All my dreams are still alive / I’ve got my mind set right this time / baby believe”. Far from the acoustic sensibilities of previous singles, ‘Believe’ signals an arguably more “mature” sound for Frøkedal–combining full band with folk-leaning string sections. A more confident approach – perfectly reflected in her captivating lyrics.

Black Milk Exposes the Truth in the Incendiary “True Lies”
Blending rock, funk, soul, jazz, and hip-hop into a futuristic cocktail, Detroit’s Black Milk earned the respect of the music industry with his intense sonics and thoughtful lyrics. On his latest single, “True Lies,” Black Milk calls out various forms of institutionalization common in American society. Black specifically challenges organized religion and the education system for instilling false wisdom and false hope: “Teacher, teacher why you keep feeding me false/Information, taught is this a way to keep me lost/Said you’re here to make us brighter, but you keep me in the dark.” The track is comprised entirely of live instrumentation – scratching guitars, droning flutes, and an impossibly funky bassline. “True Lies” is the latest single from FEVER, Black Milk’s sixth solo album, releasing via Mass Appeal Records and Computer Ugly on February 23rd.
