“Known as country music’s mecca, Nashville has somehow become fertile ground for pop artists like Daniella Mason. She’s written for Nick Jonas and toured with Demi Lovato, but now she’s stepping out on her own,” Ladygunn’s Erica Hawkins wrote yesterday. “Last October, Daniella released her first full-length self-titled record. Now, she premieres the video for her track, “Nightshapes,” in which she explores the monotonous, yet pivotal intimate moments of relationships. Her ethereal voice is backed by trickling electronic melodies, and scenes featuring her co-writer/guitarist/husband, Chris.”

S. Carey Debuts “More I See” Video
“The ‘More I See’ video is the most ambitious video project we’ve attempted by the S. Carey team. We enlisted Minneapolis director, Brendan Lauer, to invent a treatment that fit the theme of the song and enhanced the sound of the track,” says Carey. “Despite the Minnesota Vikings jersey that Brendan loudly displayed on the 2-day shoot in rural Wisconsin, it turned out to be a fun time, and the Minneapolis-based team was nothing short of amazing and extremely pro! I got to ‘act’ alongside my friend and collaborator, author Michael Perry, who did a knockout job. This video is an artful presentation of Midwestern warmth and charm, and brings life to the song.”
“‘PARTY NO MORE’ kinda plays off the Hip Hop Ban in China right now,” explains Bohan. “Last year, Hip Hop blew up and people made literally millions but this year the scene will be harder to maneuver for some, ‘less fun.’ It hasn’t really affected me, although when I performed at the Concrete & Grass Festival in Shanghai, the government did have people to stop me, and a few other foreign artists, but it was more due to Visa issues. The screening process of songs/lyrics for bigger festivals will be more strict than it was previously, but I am well aware of the boundaries and I do not consider myself in harms way. But who knows? ‘PARTY NO MORE’ is really my attitude towards to 2018. I just wanna go harder this year and I’m really enjoying putting in work more than ever.”

With the companion visual we’re taken on a journey through heartbreak and forgiveness.

PREME SHARES NEW TRACK “NO DEFEAT”
Today, Preme releases his new track “No Defeat.” Formerly known as P Reign, the Canadian-rapper gives us another glimpse into his forthcoming self-titled project set for release this year via RCA Records.
The first single to be taken released from the record is album opener and title track “Projector”, premiering today on the Line of Best Fit. Spectral, almost skeletal at first, before the man’s resonant voice and spartan guitar are joined by shiversome choral vocals from Bat For Lashes’ Natasha Khan and haunted folktronica from Four Tet. Felice counts London’s genre-surfing experimentalist as both close friend and neighbor. The track is a hallucinatory walk through the backrooms and hallways of modern human paranoia and tech-induced loneliness, as the warped choir sings: ‘All the while you felt so alone/but all the while there were bugs in the phone and you were not alone.’

THE ARMED ANNOUNCE NEW LP ONLY LOVE
Detroit punk/hardcore/experimental collective The Armed have announced their second LP, ONLY LOVE, due April 27th via No Rest Until Ruin (US) / Throatruiner (EU). The band returned to GodCity Studio to work with Converge guitarist, Kurt Ballou, as executive producer. Continuing their signature process of collaborating with different drummers on each release, this time The Armed recruited Ben Koller (Converge, Killer Be Killed, Mutoid Man). The partnership led to an entirely new creative approach for the record, one that allowed them to achieve their most wildly innovative work to date. The goal for ONLY LOVE was to reach an overwhelming level of intensity without referencing the typical tent poles of the genres they’re associated with. By imagining they had never heard punk, metal or hardcore and limiting references to pop and the music of their youth, The Armed were able to arrive at an incredibly intense, but wildly unique reinterpretation of aggressive music.
Wolverhampton, UK’s DEARIST Releasing Sophomore LP ‘Sonder’ on April 27
Wolverhampton, UK rockers Dearist will release their sophomore full-length, ‘Sonder,’ via Spartan Records on April 27.
A track off the forthcoming release (“Drowning”) is debuting today on The Alternative.
Adam Binder (vocals/guitar) says, “This song made it onto the new album pretty early, I was listening to a lot of mid tempo 90’s alternative rock at the time and I wanted to write a song with that same semi-dreamy vibe. I had that intro riff going on a loop pedal in the studio for about 2 hours just vibing off it. We’ve actually being playing this song live for a few months now so anyone that’s seen us live recently may recognise it.
As for the lyrical content, like all songs on this new album, its written about other people I know, and what it would be like to be in their shoes. Drowning is about a person that has been through a tough time and they are finding it hard to move on with their life. It’s about getting stuck in what’s happened in the past and not being able to shake off those experiences.”
Kat Meoz Releases New EP ‘Here I Wait’
The EP has been garnering heavy airplay by the legendary Rodney Bingenheimer on his nationally syndicated show The Underground Garage on SiriusXM and features the singles, “Here I Wait” and “Conquest”.

With an irrepressible charisma and an uncommon acuity for emotional storytelling, Young Scooter is one of trap music’s unsung heavyweights. Rocking a percussive cadence over an emotional piano-laden instrumental, Scooter recounts a timeline of his life and legal issues in “Bail Out.” Tracing a roller coaster of personal accomplishments and roadblocks, the Black Migo Gang chieftain affirms his love for his family, even as he remembers his father leaving home when he was a child, and poignantly relays the struggles of life in the trap: “2008, n*gga, I couldn’t even make bail/2006, I had my son and I was broke as hell/2009, I start increasing my clientele/Real talk I used to sleep in a house full of bills.” Premiered by Complex, “Bail Out” features a verse from YoungBoy Never Broke Again, who speaks on his own trials and tribulations. “Bail Out” is the latest single from Trippple Cross, Young Scooter’s upcoming album.
New West Records President John Allen stated, “Being fans of both artists, I was intrigued to hear they had been collaborating. Upon hearing their demos, I was struck by how immediately the songs pulled you in and the hooks stayed with you. We are very enthusiastic about this album and eager to see its release.”
Today, Golden Globe, GRAMMY, Academy Award winning activist, actor and artist Common, four-time GRAMMY Award winning pianist/producer Robert Glasper, and drummer/producer extraordinaire Karriem Riggins released the second single “Black Kennedy” from their new group August Greene. The FADER said of the song “Riggins’ drums feel like the human body as metronome, a sturdy backbone for Glasper’s dreamscape piano and Common’s sharp storytelling.” The band’s self-titled debut album will be released as an Amazon Original on March 9th.
