Blake Brown & The American Dust Choir Shares Lead Single “Stop Shakin'”

Today, Denver-based group Blake Brown & The American Dust Choir shares the first track off their debut LP Long Way Home. “Stop Shakin'” was released exclusively via All Things Go, who writes, “Set to the tune of classic Americana, it matches the rhythm of our lofty thoughts and encourages us rise up from almost certain defeat and endure. SUR Releases New Song “MAKE IT TO MORNING”

SUR is the brainchild of musician/producer Zack Arnett, who also adds to his credentials visual artist, poet, medicinal farmer and apothecarian. Frustrated by the confines of Los Angeles, Arnett built a makeshift studio in the back of an RV and set out on a journey through the desert, national parks and Big Sur. While out on the road, Arnett began creating a sound both gritty and melodic, nuanced and volatile, reflective and deeply life-affirming. The lifelong musician will release a debut EP later this year that fully embodies the forces at the heart of SUR: love, violence, and nature.

THE DAMNED RELEASE FUTURISTIC VIDEO FOR NEW SINGLE ‘STANDING ON THE EDGE OF TOMORROW’

Legendary British band, The Damned have released a video today for new single, ‘Standing On The Edge Of Tomorrow’ taken from their new album, Evil Spirits’, scheduled for release on Search And Destroy / Spinefarm Records on April 13th. Their first new album in a decade.

The single is “an optimistic song even though it is about a dark subject, in a world obsessed by ‘self’,” explains legendary frontman Dave Vanian, who also directed the video. “This is a cry for humanity to recognize its humanity, before it’s too late. There is a strong influence of Joe Meek here: ‘Telstar’ was a glorious song about the opportunities of the future. I’d like to think that ‘SOTEOT’ reflects a similar sentiment.”

Russian Baths unveil new single “What’s Your Basement”

The track premiered on Decibel Magazine where the band shared, “There was a man in Amstetten who hid a family with his daughter in a basement for 24 years. He said he always knew it wasn’t right, but allowed it to become a normal occurrence. Rationalization is very problematic.”

Death Is The Goal of Life

Earthists. prides themselves on making meaningful music. Their new single, “memento mori,” is the first new track since their Tragic Hero Records debut, “Dreamscape.” Highlighting how much the band has grown, all while sticking to their signature sound, the single has a deep meaning behind the lyrics.

When asked about the theme and concept behind the song, Guitarist Yuta Tanaka shared, “Our vocalist Yui wrote the lyrics and shared his inspiration as Life and Death are not conflicting, but death is including life. In other words, death is the goal of life. We may be hurting someone all without knowing it. In order to break this cycle, we must be aware of it and forgive each other.”

The Go! Team premiere “Mayday” video via Billboard

Following the release of their new LP SEMICIRCLE, The Go! Team have premiered a video for “Mayday” — the Morse code inspired album opener and “whomping soul jam” (All Music) — via Billboard. “The video depicts a woman in trouble, heartbroken and trapped in a flood of her own tears,” says director and frequent collaborator, James Slater, “Like most of The Go! Team videos I’ve made, it’s a full-on, coffee-fueled collage of mixed media. This one is a collision of stop frame animation, archive flood disaster footage, rotoscoped singers, and a crestfallen girl, who are all framed behind a storm of paper tears.” Billboard says, “Complete with a little extra soul infused from bandleader Ian Parton’s extended trip to the city of Motown, the band’s infectious exuberance is sure to help clear away those tears.”

Cut Copy will play a series of U.S. headline shows this spring. The run will kick off on March 29 at the Granada Theater in Dallas and include shows at Exit In in Nashville (April 2) and the Riviera Theatre in Chicago (April 5). The band will also perform at McDowell Mountain Music Festival in Phoenix, Air + Style in Los Angeles, NYC’s Governors Ball, Upstream in Seattle and Electric Forest in Rothbury, MI. LA’s Current Joys share Fassbinder-inspired “In A Year Of 13 Moons” video

Current Joys — a.k.a LA-based songwriter Nicholas Rattigan — today shared a new video for “In A Year Of 13 Moons” from his forthcoming visual album A Different Age out March 2nd via Danger Collective Records. Inspired by and named after the Rainer Fassbinder film, Rattigan explains, “I wrote this song during the end of 2016, which felt like one of these cataclysmic years for myself, and I’m sure for many others. The song is meant to be a melancholic ballad about suffering through life. While experiencing these astronomical cycles of tragedy, there is nothing we can really do but sit and wait for the moons to change.” The video stars Jackson Katz, representing Rattigan’s younger self on acoustic guitar, while present-day Rattigan draws the album artwork on his cheek.
