Formosa – ‘Fuck up your Liver’

The new musicvideo of the Song “Fuck up your Liver” is the best evidence that good Hardrock music is made with beer and joy.

In an old train-garage the video was shoot in November with more than 30 participants. The video has it all: Beershowering, a cucumber as a Drumstick and Stagediving deluxe. The song is in answer to #instafit and #healthylifestyle. A canticle and a declaration of love for all what is bad for the body but still a lot of fun!

BLAKTAI TO RELEASE THEIR DEBUT SINGLE, “SKIN” FROM THEIR FORTHCOMING SELF-TITLED EP ON VALENTINES DAY

BlakTai to release their debut single “Skin.” BlakTai was born in the spring of 2017 when Whitney Tai and Kelsey Warren of Blak Emoji met and fell deep into a focused creative music collaboration. The plan was to see how much music they could compose and record within the span of a month. After a few tracks were finished, they took 3 months off and resumed recording in the studio as well as their apartments. Sessions consisted of many writing hours, loads of tea, Russian cuisine and mainly laughing and cracking each other up.

Whitney Tai is a captivating singer, musician and producer from NYC. Her style ranges from pop to dance to alt/rock to edm. Her full length album, “Metamorphosis,” was released with rave reviews as were her follow up singles with club producer mastermind, Sunfreakz. Kelsey is also a vocalist, musician and producer who released his debut electro pop/rock ep, “Intro” with his group, Blak Emoji, last year. The newly formed duo covers a lot of musical ground borrowing sonic cues from the 80s and 90s to today’s music. To make the creative process more interesting, they would spend hours taking car rides and just listening and introducing each other to past and present music favorites.

CENTAUR (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)

Aktan Arym Kubat’s beautiful film “Centaur” provided me with the opportunity to write my most heartfelt and personal score to date. When I first saw the film, I was daunted because it was temptracked exclusively with my music from Aktan’s “The Light Thief”. This was the first time that I was confronted with my own music in a temp track, and it worked frighteningly well, too. So what do you do if you don’t want to repeat yourself? Thankfully I was told that the temp music really was just a placeholder and that I should do whatever I felt was right and not pay too much attention to the existing music. After I came up with a theme, everything went smoothly and we hardly changed anything at all. Of course one can never completely escape the influence of a first impression and my score remains a cousin to “The Light Thief”, but a more mystical and most certainly a more melancholy one. I’m very happy to have been given the opportunity to contribute something emotional to Aktan’s wonderful film and hope that many people will see it.

New video: Richard James Simpson ‘Spirit Plus’

The song title “Spirit Plus,”is a nod to the late, great auteurs Stanley Kubrick and David Bowie. Simpson has always wished to fuse Kubrick’s and Bowie’s dramatic flare into his own music.

In this song, he explores the theme of “The Great Spirit,” a universal and mystical concept present in every civilization around the globe. His fascinating interpretation of “The Great Spirit” invites us – or rather, beckons us – to understand “The Great Spirit” not just as a supreme God, but as a universal, spiritual force within everyone.

The alluring guitar work on this piece only helps to intensify the dreamy and reflective mood of the song, which brings to mind such artists as Cocteau Twins and My Bloody Valentine. This enlightening and hypnotic song declares the answer is within.

“It’s telling a story from my childhood, during that cross-over period when I had to be more independent. It was little things; facing my fear of the dark or going to the toilet on my own without my mum standing outside the door.
