AXS premieres serene dream pop from East Forest

Yesterday, shamanistic electro pop maestro East Forest premiered his newest remix via AXS who noted the track “digs deep into the souls of listeners, as they turn on, tune out the world and get in touch with their inner person.”

It’s an intimate trip through his mind frame, post divorce and while the affirmative track may not answer the question posed, “what does it mean today to be a man?”, it certainly offers a balanced perspective – combating toxic masculinity with self reflective truisms and gorgeous piano glitched beats.

Multi-platinum, GRAMMY-winning pop star DAYA performed her latest single “New” yesterday on The Late Late Show with James Corden. His latest releases are “Jetty Reality” and “Wie Hiesst Du” which will be available on Spotify and iTunes in January 2018. “The inspiration came from Barry Sanders himself. Just felt like he came and did great things on the big stage and proved to be great at what he did. I always looked up to the great as they were like super heroes to me. Lynn Moffatt newest music video of her recent single “Dark Room”

Written when Lynn was going through her own challenging life transitions, the song depicts the difficulties of overcoming such transitions in life, where sometimes we feel like being enveloped in a dark room of emotions or characters, even when we are surrounding by sunshine and light. That’s when we have no choice but to let the voices inside have a voice and take meaning to each own life’s challenges and direction.

Lynn Moffatt shares the following about “Dark Room”:

“Have you ever been alone in a room and gotten the feeling that maybe you weren’t alone at all? When everything is dark and silent, the voices inside get louder. ‘Dark Room’ is about that inner controversy and social pressures. Turn off the lights and turn up the song and let your imagination drift…find your own ‘Dark Room.’”

You’ve heard of movie soundtracks, but what about a book soundtrack?

During hospitalization for injuries sustained in a fire, the anonymous author of the YA Sci-Fi series William Hawk turned to music. Unable to do much else, the soon-to-be-author latched onto one album in particular: Invader Volume 2 by award-winning New Zealand Hip Hop group Rapture Ruckus.

Fast-forward a few years and an unusual artistic relationship has blossomed between Rapture Ruckus frontman Brad Dring and the anonymous author, writing under the pen name William Hawk.

Brad has written a 5 song EP for the author’s forthcoming novel Ignition, the first book in the William Hawk YA science fiction / fantasy series. The EP works as a soundtrack for the novel and it’s characters, bringing to life the struggle of the protagonist William Hawk, a teen who has the responsibility (and fate) of the world on his shoulders.

Speaking to Billboard about the track, Owen explained – “I wrote the song with my buddy Nate Merchant, who I worked with on “Can’t Fight It.” That day, we were feeling good. There was a good energy in the room. Whenever I write, it’s a stamp in time that captures the emotion of what I’m feeling that day. We were talking about coming out to L.A. and being out in the industry and how stressful that can be. He was kind of diggin’ someone, I had just started dating my boyfriend and exploring being a gay man — I’ve never felt that emotion before, being with someone like that. I’m getting chills right now just thinking about it. It’s been a long time coming for me to feel that. I know there’s so many other people who don’t get to feel that, but I’m hoping that they do when they come to terms with who they are.
