SKOPE NEWS FOR JANUARY 5, 2018

Third Man Records and Queens rapper Shirt release music video Flight Home

Directed by SHIRT and Dave Svedosh, Flight Home is immersed in all things classically New York. SHIRT brings you along for ride through Manhattan on top of a truck painted with Nike Adidas signage, something he has done quite a few times on his own prior to filming the music video. For 50 or so blocks from 23rd on Broadway through the Lower East Side, the crowds cheered, took photos and enjoyed the free performance and shirts. After savoring a typical decadent meal, SHIRT creeps down to the famed Freedom Tunnel, exposing its raw and extraordinary graffiti artwork honoring the displaced New Yorkers who sought liberty and refuge.

“This was done without Nike or adidas permission or consent but with the utmost respect. This is about culture and love, and being able to take flights home,” says SHIRT.

Raina Bee & The Hive release new video “Queen of the South”

“‘Queen of the South’ is kind of a revenge fantasy song. It’s about someone who wronged me and imagining what I wish I could do to them in response. The whole Queen of the South thing is somewhat alluding to the civil war and that the relationship was kind of a war. A lot of the South burned during that period and there was a lot of retribution so it made sense to me to kind of tie the things together.”

Unsigned Only Announces 2018 Judges

Are you an indie artist? Are you doing it yourself without the backing of a major record label? If you believe in yourself and know your value as an artist, then you need to be proactive and take advantage of opportunities that can help to benefit you and promote your career. Be in charge of your future. It is up to you.

Unsigned Only is designed for all indie artists (including solo artists, bands, and singers) who are unsigned to a major record label. Why does Unsigned Only include only unsigned artists? It’s simple. Limiting the competition to unsigned artists levels the playing field for entrants because they are not competing with well-known artists, Grammy winners, or artists with a major label machine behind them. The goal is to give indie artists exposure, recognition, and validation for their artistry. Unsigned Only is the premier music competition in the world for indie and unsigned artists.
