Reppin’ the City of Brotherly Love, artists Skizzy Mack and Shawn Butler had been trying to get in the studio for months having known the same people in the city. They each had heard about each others talents from mutual friends and wanted to build a working relationship. Once they finally caught up the magic was instant. They both talked about how they wanted to get their career rolling and weren’t gonna stop for anyone. Thus the title “Rollin”. Shawn Butler, who is featured on the hook also produced the track that night in the studio. Skizzy laid his verse in two takes and they knew they had a joint on their hands for the city! They shot the video a few days later with Inferno, another Philly Native. Look for more from these two artists in the near future!
Legendary Music Producer Rick Hall Dies at 85, Family Issues Statement
Legendary music producer and FAME Studios founder Rick Hall has died at the age of 85. Hall died this morning at his home in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, not far from his world famous recording studio.
The family has issued the following statement:
It is with the deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our father, husband and beloved grandfather, Rick Hall. His spirit will live on forever through the massive amount of legendary music that he so tirelessly produced. Music was his life and because of him, Fame Studios and Muscle Shoals will always be “shooting for the stars!” We hope the band in Heaven is ready. If not, there’s going to be a problem.

Declan McKenna To Play Coachella & Adds New Dates On U.S. Tour
Declan McKenna is confirmed for 2018’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, and will perform sets during both weekends of the Indio, California festival. The festival performances are part of Declan’s extensive 40+ date U.S. headlining tour which begins January 31st in support of his new album What Do You Think About The Car?. Due to demand, shows on this tour have been added or upgraded to larger rooms in Decatur, Syracuse, and Evanston (full dates below). Various cities including Austin, Dallas, Salt Lake City, Phoenix, AZ, and Santa Ana have also sold out quickly (full dates below). Berry Share “Fragments” Track Via All Things Go
All Things Go have premiered “Fragments”, the second single from Berry’s LP ‘Everything Compromised’. Prior to this, The 405 premiered the single “Civil Disobedience”. ‘Everything Compromised’ will be getting a physical release on 1/12 via Joyful Noise Recordings.
The music of Berry is a strange animal. But writing and recording over 100 songs in their 15 years together has resulted in some dense, delicate, graceful pop songs with a certain Searching for Bobby Fischer mentality.
2017 BuzzAngle U.S. Music Consumption Report Highlights
Welcome to BuzzAngle Music’s 2017 report on U.S. music consumption. 2017 saw a significant increase in overall consumption, an outstanding 12.8% over 2016 that marks the third year in a row with increasing growth.
Audio stream consumption continued its explosive expansion with a 50.3% increase to 377B streams, an amazing 127B more streams than in 2016. Subscription streams are now at an impressive 80% of total audio streams, up from 76% in 2016.
Both album sales and song sales continued to decline, 14.6% and 23.2% respectively, but physical sales declined only 7%, while vinyl sales continued its impressive growth with an increase of 20.1% over 2016 and now comprises 10.4% of all physical album sales.
