Introducing Brisbane’s newest punk outfit DELUSO
Following their debut in early 2017, Brisbane’s newest pop punk trio comes out swinging with new single and ‘Don’t Look’ and accompanying video, premiering via CONTROL Zine this week.
Reminiscent of house parties in rickety Queenslanders, on warm Brissy nights with cheap beer and good mates, Deluso capture the the energy and anxiety of being young and uncertain, but giving it a crack anyway. Borrowing sonic elements from pop punk heroes of the late 2000’s and adding the rough and tumble twang of front man Era Brightwell’s vocals, Deluso bring a vigor to the Australian music landscape which will surely resonate among fans of modern heavyweights like Luca Brasi and The Smith Street Band, all the while recalling the heyday of Kisschasy and Gyroscope.

Lost Song is about losing confidence in life, and regaining it. It’s about fear and feeling unidentified, but also about regaining a basic belief in just being. TERROR UNIVERSAL Premieres New Slasher Flick-Inspired Music Video for “Dig You A Hole”
“It’s like a mini-thriller video,”MASSACRE tells Billboard. “It’s about a psychologist or someone who’s manipulating his victims into doing the killing for him, about how he manipulates a person to do the dirty work — a serial killer type of vibe. And he gets (the victims) to dig their own hole. The whole thing is just really disturbed and pretty ugly and grotesque at times — which is exactly what we wanted. I really dig this first introduction to the band.”

New single from Montreal trio CHANCES
It was in late 2016, that Montreal-based musicians Chloé Lacasse and Geneviève Toupin, both singer songwriters and pianists, along with drummer Vincent Carré, decided to come together to sketch out a few songs, just to see where uninhibited brainstorming might lead. With two well received singles already released in 2017, ‘Rishikesh’ is their most experimental and vibrant effort yet. A world music/electronic music mashup that becomes otherworldly in its atmospheric builds. Catapulting rhythms, syncopated vocals, and bubbling synths envelope around a loop of singers recorded on the banks of the Ganges. Exquisite in the execution, lyrically ‘Rishikesh’ is all about choice and intention, and musically it’s about exploration.

Boulevards shares “What’s Real” via The Line of Best Fit
Boulevards (real name Jamil Rashad) added, “I teamed up with Derek Wise aka Secret Attraction on this song. With adding Laura to the track, we thought her Soulful vocals would make A great addition over the mood synths. We both we’re going through some personal emotional conflict. So we decided to make a song about falling in love with the idea of loving that person. Realizing when things hit the fan that you weren’t truly in love with that person, just the idea. Sometimes we get so wrapped in love and so much anxiety we forget to see things clearly. When love fades and the credits start to roll you realize that what you and that person were never in love or meant to be.”
