Parson James Releases “Only You”
“Only You” tells the tale of the ups and downs of heartbreak and healing, the young South Carolina born artist explains. “I wrote this song almost immediately after a breakup with my partner of nearly 3 years. I left NYC and went straight to LA thinking that an escape was the best way to get over something as painful as what I was dealing with. LA is a lonely place. Quite isolating. The second I started feeling that, I thought I’d made a bad decision. I thought there is no one out there that will love me because I’m not worthy of being loved. So even though he cheated, or I cheated in retaliation and the situation became volatile, I should suck it up and just deal with it because it’s only you that will love me. A few months passed and I regained my confidence and dissected the relationship and realized, I don’t think I was singing to him. I was singing to the part of myself that I lost while in that relationship. So this song to me now, is about finding your way back to the part of you that you lost. Finding a way to love yourself as much as you want to be loved.”

Boy Epic Unleashes Inner Animal In Latest Video “Wolf”
Co-written by Boy Epic and Cut Down Trees, “Wolf” is about unleashing your inner animal and letting those instincts take over, revealing our true selves. “The song is about the discovery of our subconscious minds. Tapping on the surface of uncontrolled thoughts and melancholy we all share within ourselves,” says Boy Epic. The video concept, conceived by Boy Epic, follows the conflicting emotions he feels as he futilely tries to save his lover. A passionate filmmaker, Boy Epic also directed and edited the video. “The story is in the small details, forcing you to use your imagination. I wanted to capture a balance visually that would make you question this man’s motives, love him, hate him, and capitalize on the idea that everyone’s strange in their own unique way,” he explains. The music video delves into his inner turmoil that rests just below the surface, dancing the fine line between love and lust as control over his emotions slowly slips away.

Big Bill Share Debut LP, “Stand By Your Bill”
Today, November 17th, 2017, Austin’s smartest, dumbest band, Big Bill, make their official debut with the 10-song, 30- minute LP, Stand By Your Bill, via First Humans Records.
In the tradition of Texas greats like Big Boys, Dicks, and Butthole Surfers, Big Bill interprets the concept of “punk” in their own unique way, and in a variety of flavors. The opening track, “What Do You Want On Your Salad?” is a shout-along anthem, while “Baby Go Wah” is a surreal, weirdly tender ballad. Many of the songs, including the sludge rock of “Clint Eastwood Is My Dad” and the queasy, quasi-disco “Trick Everybody,” leave the listener in the hands of an unreliable, possibly unstable, narrator.

SAN HOLO RELEASES NEW SINGLE “ONE THING” TODAY
“The song ‘One Thing’ is an exact translation of how I feel most of the time. When I’m supposed to stand still, I still feel like I’m running, chasing after something. Restlessly wandering around because I’m too focused on what is to come, instead of being content in the moment. It’s a reminder for me to enjoy the now, even though there’s so many goals I have set. It’s about the realization I’m never really able to reach my goals because they’re always changing. If you’re chasing your dreams you’ll never stop chasing. This song is a reminder to take a step back and enjoy the moments from time to time, because that’s all we really have.”
The Laytcomers New Single
“The first time we tried to come up with songs was when me (Ilya) and two of our other friends, who were original members of The Laytcomers, came to Cyes’ place in Davis, where he went to college,” Ilya explains. “I was hoping we were going to write some music, but at that time no one was really motivated to do anything, until I actually sat down with a cheap microphone myself and played/sang (pretty terribly), forcing everyone to contribute. Most of the sounds from that time were almost unlistenable. For drums we used a Guitar Hero drum set, which we used to write some of our first songs (Coldfront, Coppertone). There weren’t a clear idea who does what, I was switching between bass and acoustic guitar, both of which I could barely even play at the time.”

Swedish Fast Food Fanatic Elliot releases new single ‘Trade Burgers 4 Love’ via ICEA
“Trade Burgers 4 Love” is just a taste of Elliot’s lo-fi musical smorgasbord. Heavily influenced by musicians of the LA experimental pop scene (Ariel Pink, John Maus), his songs hang on you like fast-food binges while scrolling through an abyss of late night memes. Elliot says, “If I would attach any meme to this I would dig up a real dead and somewhat normie-esque one, that nonetheless captures the spirit of this track. Sad Keanu. Blast from the past.” Hold a burger in one hand and a computer mouse in the other as you contemplate your existence. In Elliot’s words, the song condemns “‘greasy burgers’ as a subject of an unhealthy way of perceiving yourself, which then leads to a weird limbo of apathy.” The message of the song exposes a sedentary lifestyle that leads to a downward spiral away from human contact…forever alone.
