The Poodles – New video out today
The Poodles are back with “It’s no good”, the second single from the coming album “PRISMA”, in virtual and physical stores early 2018!
“We took on the challenge to do our version of an iconic song from a different genre”, says lead singer Jakob Samuel. “Depeche Mode is such an influential band and their darker 90s stuff is really cool!” he continues.
Rebels share philosophical opus ‘When The Cost Has No Value’
Despite being introduced by the group as “a load of overheard pub conversations, squashed into one song”, there’s a whole heap of wisdom in the words of ‘When The Cost Has No Value’, a deadpan roll-call of neologisms for our times set to two and a half minutes of loping drum-machine-and-strum-driven melody. Taken from Moderate Rebels’ forthcoming album, ‘The Sound of Security’, the song cements the London collective’s standing at the lyrical and sonic cutting-edge, sounding entirely effortless as they do so.
ALTHEA Release New Official Video ‘Leave It For Tonight’
Leave It For Tonight is taken from the latest album of Italian progressive group Althea titled Memories Have No Name. This is the first full official video taken from the album following the recent lyrics video for Take Me as I Am.
Here’s what Althea had to say about the song; “The song is about the moment when we are burdened with thoughts that seem so huge and undefeatable that the only remaining thing to do is finding a shelter in the world of dreams. In this world, we are always welcomed by a recurring voice assuring us that everything is alright and under control, while we are moving between the light and the dark… between dreams and reality… where we are lost even if we know the path, where we can do whatever we want knowing that nothing is for real and that nothing can hurt us. Passing from a light sleep to the deepest one, the heart rate slows and prepares us to a safe journey within the feelings and memories that live in our dreams and that can’t reach the real world… until we wake up again uncertain on where we are…”.
FALL OUT BOY debuts HOLD ME TIGHT OR DON’T
The video, directed by Brendan Walter and Mel Soria, is a love story embedded in a colorful and vibrant celebration of Dia de los Muertos. “HOLD ME TIGHT OR DON’T” is the fourth glimpse inside M A N I A, coming on the heels of global streaming hit “The Last Of The Real Ones” which dropped in September.
Pop singer/songwriter and online star Hannah Trigwell has released the video for the new single ‘Nobody’, which is taken from her highly anticipated debut album RED, coming early 2018.
Rich with emotion, the video sees Hannah deliver an intimate and captivating performance, interlaced with gripping scenes from the ‘Another Beautiful Mistake’ video released last year.
With Sir, the group puts forth a resistant narrative with an overtly queer and celebratory body of work in response to the current atmosphere in America. The album was produced by Michael Stipe and also features additional production by BOOTS (Beyonce & Run The Jewels), along with mixing by Stuart White (Beyoncé’s Lemonade).
Portuguese wild west black metal one-man-band HOOFMARK have unveiled the track “Amongst a Sea of Darkness” on Indy Metal Vault.
Taken off from the band’s upcoming full-length “Stoic Winds”, which is set to be released on December 8th via Ultraje, Indy Metal Vault writes that it “scratches all the right itches for me. Good riffs, an interesting concept (and one that doesn’t take itself too seriously), smart songwriting, and some seriously gross vocals. If you’re the type of person who likes their music grim and nasty, but still has a big enough funnybone to chuckle at the video of Abbath eating shit down a hill, it’s a safe bet Hoofmark will make a fan out of you.”
Hear Anna Burch’s new single “Asking 4 a Friend”
Detroit singer/songwriter, Anna Burch, came to Polyvinyl’s attention the same way most valuable discoveries happen. By word of mouth. Fellow Michigan native and longtime Polyvinyl artist, Fred Thomas, sent Burch’s demos to Polyvinyl in the summer of 2017 with a simple note; “This is not a drill. You need to hear this.”
Kindata are Berni Ruiz from Seville (vocals, guitars) and Tero Heikkinen from Helsinki (synthesizers). A random meeting of two musicians who decided to leave their comfort zone and create music they had never heard before. Whether you call it electronic gospel or experimental pop, you can certainly hear influences from artists like The Postal Service, M83 or David Byrne. WeAreWolves Records released their debut EP “Divine Service” in July.
Astari Nite shares fan video for “Divination”
Obsession, witchcraft and mystery are combined in this new video for Astari Nite’s single “Divination.” The short clip was filmed and directed by a fan of the band, Pierina Hidalgo. The concept behind the production was inspired by anime characters “Yandere,” a Japanese term that describes a female character who obsesses over someone(usually the main character) and becomes psychotic and violent because of it.
Heaters share cinematic, “brilliant” “Black Bolt”
Michigan psych rock stalwarts Heaters just released their swirling, epic new album Matterhorn several weeks ago, and today, they premiered their cinematic black and white video for “Black Bolt” via Gold Flake Paint. The outlet says of the clip, “its a suitably moody, black-and-white effort… the track’s shimmering nature is captured brilliantly, the shifting tone and landscapes on view mirroring the effervescent glow that the track itself delivers with a striking sense of captivation.”
New Björk single “Blissing Me”

Femi Kuti is the heart and soul of modern Afrobeat. Femi’s father, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, created the style – a blend of traditional Nigerian drum patterns, the smooth groove of highlife and American soul, funk and R&B – and took it to the world, inspiring people with insistent dance beats and lyrics bristling with political statements. Afrobeat moved several generations of musicians, in Nigeria and around the world, to follow Fela’s dictum and use music as a weapon to fight for justice and freedom. Femi and his band, Positive Force, are at the forefront of that movement, continually expanding the music’s vocabulary, adding hints of punk and hip-hop to the sound, while maintaining its traditional roots and political message.

Stevie Van Zandt plays surprise lunchtime set at Cavern Club in Liverpool, UK
Stevie Van Zandt, a founding member of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, surprised Liverpool fans with an intimate lunchtime set at Liverpool’s most iconic venue, Cavern Club, during his seven-date UK tour. Van Zandt wanted to pay homage to The Beatles by playing a lunchtime show in this legendary club. The Beatles played approximately 150 lunchtime shows there between 1961- 1963. The set was the perfect warm up for Stevie’s penultimate UK show at O2 Academy Liverpool tonight.
Van Zandt paid tribute to Liverpool’s most treasured band during his set, playing a mix of Beatles originals and their favorite tracks from the Cavern years, including “Some Other Guy” (by Richard Barrett), “Boys” (originally by the Shirelles), “Slow Down” (by Larry Williams) and “Soldier Of Love” (first recorded by Arthur Alexander).
Formed in 2017 by acclaimed guitarist/vocalist Rett Smith and drummer Daniel Sousa, SAENTS employs heavy, virtuosic grooves, blistering riffs and haunting vocals that have been featured in American Songwriter, NYLON, Gibson Guitars and NPR to name a few. Substream Magazine debuted the first track, “Blood” , and its corresponding video, a powerful visual filled with artistic, stoic and vintage imagery.
