Grammars Debut New Single “War Of Words” On Northern Transmissions

“War of Words” is an effort to distill noisy, negative, chatter in to something sensical, simplified, essential and useful. At the time it was written and recorded, it seemed like walls laced with a new standard of bald faced disinformation were closing in around us. I remember just walking up to the mic without any plans and what you hear is the first thing that happened. There was something in the room at the time. The rustling and coughing in the air at the beginning is as much a part of the moment as anything else getting captured. Its a moment of humanity that was totally unplanned, yet vital in retrospect. Strangely we could have easily edited it like most songs would, but we never even discussed it. I guess subconsciously we all knew the air was charged like an instrument and needed to be there.

“manages to capture the intimacy of a bedroom recording; Maura’s vocals are almost like quiet whispers, so as not to wake the others in the house. Still, there’s plenty of little artful flourishes, like the sharp guitar plucks that permeate through the track’s natural melody or the buzz in the quiet distance.” – Austin Town Hall

Montreal’s Doldrums shares new music video for “Limerence”

Speaking about the video, Airick Asher Woodhead (Doldrums) said : “David Kleiser’s video for ‘Limerence’ is a home-made masterpiece, featuring thunderbirds-like toy figures he made of me on an alien planet, a barbarella-esque zero gravity sequence and this flower spaceship that I pilot through a portal which explodes out of my own chest (w tons-o blood). Kleiser has been playing drums with me this tour, and it’s been fun making things with him, feels pretty casual and was made for like zero money, just lots of care, from the new LP which we self-released and handmade the artwork for. ‘Limerence’ is a really crucial song on the album – writing it was me working through a conception of love that was healthy vs one that was unhealthy. It’s a beautiful word, too. It describes a situation where you are addicted to someone, mentally or physically, to the point where your body rewards you when you interact with them, and the situations that that can lead you into.”

Derek Hough Releasing First Solo Music Single “HOLD ON” for Mental Health Awareness

Emmy Award winning Derek Hough is delving into the music world this November and releasing his first solo music single, a track titled “HOLD ON,” to help spread the word about the importance of mental health awareness.

Hough teams with the Movember Foundation, the leading global organization committed to changing the face of men’s health, to assist in their initiative to educate the public about the need to talk about mental health and suicide prevention, topic that hits close to home for him, and he’s using his song “Hold On” to do so.

The song, which Hough wrote as an ode to those who struggle with depression and thoughts of suicide, is produced by Jayson DeZuzio (Imagine Dragons, Christina Aguilera, Skylar Grey) and Joseph McQueen (Kehlani, David Guetta). The song debuts November 1 on digital platforms iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music and Tidal. The lyrics to the song speak about holding on and not letting go, about remaining hopeful in even the darkest of times.

Cabbage New Video

The new clip accompanies a re-recording of the fan favourite track (and live set closer), produced by James Skelly & Richard Turvey, and picking up plenty of plays across 6Music & Radio 1. The band made the new video – shot by longterm collaborator Dom Foster on a busy weekend in Manchester’s city centre – with local cult heroes (and Cabbage favourites), buskers The Piccadilly Rats.
