Inviolate Releases Official Music Video for “Broken Cycle”

Atlanta-based rock/metal/industrial band Inviolate has released their brand new music video for “Broken Cycle”, the second single from their August 2017 full-length CD The Insomniac’s Dream. Originally premiered on Tattoo.com, “Broken Cycle” was shot by Chance White of White Flame Studios at both the complex of the Safety Wolf facility and Atlanta’s Big Peach Studios.

Beta Testers Open Call for HumBeatz Music-Making Web App

AmpTrack Technologies has announced an open call for Beta testers of its free app, HumBeatz, which is a 4-track music loop creator with pitch and beat detection that works directly in a Chrome web browser. This cloud-based app allows users to simply hum, whistle or beatbox and turn those sounds and song ideas into a musical instrument for creating musical parts, loops, stems or song sketches.

The app offers two modes for easy music creation. Hum Mode lets the user vocalize or sing a melody or bass line and assign it to one of more than 100 instruments in the app’s virtual keyboard for playback. In Beatz Mode, the user can easily create recorded rhythm parts by beatboxing and selecting from eight drum kits and eight percussion kits (192 sounds total). HumBeatz automatically detects and converts the beatbox sounds to percussion instruments.

Former Yes Guitarist Peter Banks Posthumously Rejoins Mabel Greer’s Toyshop

On a new Mabel Greer’s Toyshop album “The Secret” to be released by December 15, and for the first time in 50 years, Peter Banks and Clive Bayley are heard playing a guitar duo. Clive has written a new song around previously recorded guitar parts by Peter Banks. The song is included in the album as a tribute to Peter Banks and Chris Squire joining Mabel Greer in September 1967. “I did it because reading of Peter’s passing in 2013 was the catalyst for meeting Bob Hagger again and coming up with the crazy idea of re-forming Mabel Greer. The result is that we have produced two new albums since then, and released re-mastered BBC tapes from 1967 on the EP ‘Images'”, said Clive.

The song premiered on New Noise Magazine where the band shared, “Brian, our guitarist, likes to read about crime, and he came across an article in the New York Daily News about this guy, Fritz Haarmann. He was a German serial killer known as the Vampire of Hanover. He handed Brent, our lead singer, a tape of a song he was working on and showed him the article and said, ‘Write about this.’ Brent wrote the lyrics from the killer’s point of view. That became ‘The Vampire Of Hanover,’ the song. Brian feels it’s one of his best pieces of music he’s written.

Slow Dakota release new EP ‘Rumspringa’

orn in the cornfields of Indiana, PJ Sauerteig began releasing music as Slow Dakota from his Columbia University dorm room. (It was at Columbia where he also founded the record label, Massif Records).

After a string of early recordings, he first won critical acclaim with The Ascension of Slow Dakota, released in 2016. (He was even nominated for a Pushcart Prize following the album’s release). A month later, Sauerteig matriculated to NYU School of Law, where he’s been hidden away ever since.

BIRDS OF BELLWOODS premiere new video, “Let You Go”

Birds of Bellwoods have released “Let You Go,” the new single from their forthcoming album, VICTORIA, and their first ever music video.
