JOSHUA HYSLOP Announces New Album ‘Echos’ Releasing February 23, 2018

Canadian singer-songwriter Joshua Hyslop returns with new album Echos, releasing February 23, 2018 on Nettwerk Records. “‘Echos’ is an album about empathy.” says Joshua. “I wrote most of these songs about real experiences that people close to me have had in the past year or so. A few reflect my own life, but mostly these tracks came from listening to other people’s stories and then attempting to capture and articulate the emotions within. My hope is that it deeply resonates with people, encourages and reminds them to treat each other with kindness. I think it’s very important these days to remember that everybody has a story and to try to see things from each other’s perspectives.” An exclusive album pre-order is available now on Pledge Music.

Robokid & Phem Share New Single “Judge Me” Via NEST HQ

Phem (stylized phem) is bloody knees and Jordans, tears, numbness, and dark levity. The Portuguese allude to the idea of saudade, a feeling or longing for something or someone that you love, and have lost. An entire type of mournful singing called fado music exists to illustrate this concept. There’s no direct English translation but the LA singer, producer, and drummer’s blend of R&B, beat music, outsider pop, jazz, and open capillary soul, supplies the closest analogue.

It’s a song about moving on, mentally as well as physically. And I love to sing that song, it’s without effort, just like letting go is, when you really do.”
