Kali Uchis’ video for “Nuestro Planeta” featuring Reykon debuts today

Directed by renowned photographer Daniel Sannwald, the video was shot in Medellin, Colombia, where the track was originally recorded with Reykon and The Rude Boyz (Shakira, Maluma). Uchis’ debut album is forthcoming.

“I wanted to shoot this video in the same place we made the song, Medellin, Colombia,” says Uchis of the video. “It’s an extension of the last video I shot in my hometown in Colombia, ‘Ridin Round.’ Thank you to everyone who brought this to life, especially my angel Daniel Sannwald.”

Humming House Release Heartwarming Crowd-Sourced Video for Title Track Off New Album

Nashville band Humming House will release their third full-length album Companion on October 6th via Soundly Music. The follow-up to 2015’s Revelries, the new album finds the Music City quartet expanding their sound into a new territory, creating sonic landscapes that remain compelling and honest while still maintaining a sense of intimacy that is derived from their roots of making music as friends all together in the same room. Today, they released the official video for the title track off their new album, debuted by Huffington Post who raved “Humming House, consistantly shining as an energetic band filled with uplifting, infectious tunes, up the ante on Companion.”

ReverbNation, a company that has established itself as the industry’s go-to artist incubator with multiple artists getting snatched up by labels recently, today announced one of its artists, Melbourne-based Banoffee, has partnered with indie label 10K ISLANDS. ‘Standing At The Back Of Your Show’ premiered at Gold Flake Paint, and is the 2nd single from the debut album by Wild Ones, the project of the Portland based part DIY oddity part electropop polished collective. The first single ‘Paresthesia’ just peaked at #4 on the Hype Machine most popular chart, and has exceeded everyone’s expectations in the reaction it caused from places like DIY, Nylon, and Indie Shuffle who also included the track in their Best Of August playlist. I really love this band, so any support you can give them would mean a lot to me too.

The Struts support The Rolling Stones

This coming Monday 18th September flamboyant British rock’n’roll band The Struts will be playing a hugely anticipated headline show at the Electric Ballroom in London. They are delighted to announce that fast-rising Sheffield band Bang Bang Romeo will be supporting them.

The Struts will themselves be supporting The Rolling Stones at two of their European shows later that week. They will be playing alongside the rock ‘n’ roll giants in Zurich, Switzerland on the 20th and Lucca, Italy on the 23rd.

Reflecting the dislocation and identity drift of diaspora across the globe, ‘Aloof’ was penned by Bokito frontman Moses after his siblings followed him to London in search of employment. Their growing desire to move back home was tempered by a sense of not feeling welcome there any more. “It’s not a specifically angry or political song but rather just about a feeling that Ireland will never really feel like home again, or at least that’s how it seems currently,” says Moses.

Portland, OR’s Wild Ones have shared “Standing in the Back at Your Show” the second single off their forthcoming album, Mirror Touch, due October 6 via Topshelf Records. “Standing in the Back at Your Show is about young love when it’s completely inappropriate and unwieldy.,” explains vocalist Danielle Sullivan. “It began as a story about my husband and I, who is also a musician, and morphed into a semi fictional tale of its own.” Gold Flake Paint calls it a “sumptuous undertaking.”

CLOAKROOM DEBUT “BIG WORLD” VIDEO

Northwest Indiana’s Cloakroom have added an additional west coast run to their previously announced Fall tour dates in support of their recently released sophomore album Time Well. In conjunction with the announcement the band have shared a new video for album track “Big World.” Directed by Cloakroom bassist Robert Markos, the clip evokes a child-led pagan ritual, unexpectedly finding a parallel in the trio’s unique amalgam of smotheringly heavy sonics, gauzy textures, and forlorn melodies. The tour will kick off at the end of September with an east coast run followed by the new west coast dates in November (full dates below).

Taylor Hicks To Release New Single “Six Strings and Diamond Rings”

American Idol winner and Platinum-selling soul singer Taylor Hicks will release “Six Strings and Diamond Rings” on September 29. The long-awaited single is Hicks’ first taste of new music released in seven years and features a collaboration with Robert Randolph of ‘Robert Randolph and the Family Band.’

The single is the first from Hicks’ forthcoming album, set to release in early 2018 via SonyRED/Modern Whomp Records.

“I’ve always heard that for an artist to become successful you have to live and breathe the art that you are making. Six Strings and Diamond Rings personifies that for me in every way,” says Hicks of his new single.

Alesana Announces Show In Ecuador

Raleigh, NC-based rock/sweetcore band Alesana are excited to announce that they will be heading to Ecuador to perform a show this fall. The show follows their two-week headlining run in August on the Hero With A Thousand Faces Tour. The band is also set to perform in Mexico City this coming Saturday, September 16. When speaking about the show, vocalist Shawn Milke said:

“It is hard to believe that after all of these years we are still getting to perform in brand new places around the world. We are very excited to hit the stage and join our amazing fans in Ecuador for a night of rock and roll and good times!”

Saturn Rising shares exclusive mix with Ravelin Magazine

San Francisco’s Molly House Records is excited to partner with dancer, singer Saturn Rising on their debut EP Darkest Dream. Saturn Rising began as a backup dancer for national touring act Double Duchess, and has shared stages with Alice Glass, Palmistry, Big Freedia and Le1f. They have been an active member in the Bay Area indie club art scene including hosting events to acting in queer theatre to judging vogue contests, in addition their own music performances.
