Miami’s indie rock duo RAKER released the video for their track “Gospel”, a veritable kaleidoscope of colors over scenes. Featuring dancer Giordan Cruz and directed by Kim Avendano, the video superposes the band playing in various settings with the dancer, all while playing with the coloring and saturation at different intervals.
The track’s core groove is defined by a series of looped, overlapping bass lines, with drums, guitars and synths adding color and texture to the music supporting the vocals. “Gospel” was engineered & Mixed by Aric Meerbot. Mastering was done by Adam Matza at Magic Ears Mastering.

Modern blues singer The Reverend Shawn Amos has released a new single and video, “Ain’t Gonna Name Names”, directed by Nicole Alexander. The video premiered with Yahoo! Max Schieble, better known as Elbows, is a Brooklyn-based songwriter, vocalist, and genre-bending producer raised in the Bay Area. Combining elements of old school hip hop, futuristic electronic production, and bygone jazz instrumentation, with deliberate hooks, expansive vocal harmonies, and sporadic sampling, he creates ever-changing soundscapes all filtered through a sharp pop sensibility. Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds have announced the return to US cinemas of One More Time With Feeling, the acclaimed feature film about the making of their album Skeleton Tree directed by Andrew Dominik. The film will screen in select cities in the USA around the band’s live shows from May 2017. Two cinemas in LA will host a Q&A with Nick Cave and director Andrew Dominik following the film – the Egyptian Theatre on Friday 7th July and the Aero Theatre on Saturday 8th July.

This Memorial Day weekend, Carnaval San Francisco will celebrate “El Corazon de San Pancho — The Heart of San Francisco” at its 39th annual two-day festival and grand parade celebration, May 27 & 28 in San Francisco’s Mission District, promoting diversity, inclusion and love – characteristics of San Francisco that organizers believe are the foundation, or “heart,” of the city.
Throughout the weekend, hundreds of Carnaval San Francisco dancers and musicians will come together to transform the Mission District into an enormous celebration featuring brilliant costumes, delicious food and artistry from Brazil, Mexico, Bolivia, Colombia, Trinidad, Tobago, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Guatemala, Africa, Chile, Haiti and more – mostly created by Mission District residents and Bay Area artists. The event draws a crowd of more than 400,000 attendees each year.
Astari Nite released the video for “Lovesick,” the first single off their upcoming EP Dreams of Majesty. The release is due this summer on Cleopatra Records (U.S.) and Danse Macabre Records (Europe), with support of Raygun Agency.
