Hundred Waters have unexpectedly released a new five song EP entitled Currency. The EP was written and self-recorded/produced over the last three years at various shared houses in Los Angeles, California. It’s a deeply personal record that reflects a period of profound change within the band, wherein relationships have shifted into unfamiliar territory. Songwriter and vocalist Nicole Miglis states:
“these songs revolve around the balance between self and another, of the fine line between giving too much and not enough. how the lowest emotions are the ones that bring us closest when we open ourselves to others. how sadness and vulnerability can bring the most power and the most destruction. how truly giving yourself to someone else in any relationship can lead to a loss of identity. and how to reclaim ourselves when those lines have been erased? where do we find worth within ourselves and what do we value. which parts do we give of ourselves, what do we keep, and what we ask for in return?”

600Breezy – “Lou Rawls”
Just 5 days after the release of his album Breezo George Gervin (Leading Scorer Edition), Chicago’s 600Breezy continues to drop heat with the visual for “Lou Rawls.” Set in sunny Miami, “Lou Rawls” finds Breezo channeling his inner Rick James as he gleefully stomps on a couch, using his Fear of God boots to ruinous effect. When he’s not destroying perfectly innocent furniture, Breezo’s living it up in Miami. Dropping the top on a pair of foreign whips, partying with gorgeous models, and of course, rolling up Backwoods, 600Breezy is the epitome of a rapper on vacation. Unless you’re disturbed by man-on-couch violence, check out the video for “Lou Rawls” today.
Today, the band released “Dirty Water,” the third single to be released from the forthcoming album. The song premiered at Glide Magazine, who said, “Their Jerry Lee Lewis meets Chuck Berry with a healthy dash of Springsteen and bar band sleaze is the kind of stuff few bands even attempt now, perhaps because it isn’t ‘hip’ or because putting on a fiery rock and roll show takes bravado and energy. This was the kind of music that makes you forget about how fucked up the world is and simply enjoy the moment.”
With an impressive musicality and a drive to explore the deepest aspects of himself, rapper/producer JAYLIEN’s unique sound and refreshing honesty earned him millions of plays on SoundCloud. Losing himself in a disastrous romantic entanglement, JAYLIEN works through his jealousy in “Lucky Guy,” his disorienting, hypnotic new single: “Your boyfriend’s a lucky guy.” With JAYLIEN rhythmically riding atop off-kilter, distorted synths, the track grows more and more sinister until it becomes clear that JAYLIEN will get what he wants, “lucky” boyfriend be damned. Premiered by Ebro on Beats 1 Radio and debuted online by Pigeons & Planes, the Tame Impala-sampling “Lucky Guy” is a creepy and compelling example of what makes JAYLIEN special.

“Superman” captures the frustrations of the artist – the feelings of not being good enough despite countless time and effort to improve and succeed. It buddies up to the band’s inspiration behind the album title Potential and together, both titles reflect the push-pull of trying to get recognized, while also balancing the need for outside gratification to mark one’s assessment of their own talent. The video crystallizes this as the camera follows fine artist Danielle Lee throughout her day as an aspiring artist. Ultimately, as King Washington’s Tyson Kelly points out, “There is an underlying message that good things come to those who perservere.”

What makes Savannah, GA’s Triathalon so curious is not where they fit musically—a lazy listener might lump their billowing lava lamp jams with murmuring shoegaze bands, though “indie rock” feels like the only box broad enough to contain their complexities. Rather, their curiosity is derived from the fact that they don’t easily fit anywhere, seemingly by design. In fact, as soon as listeners become accustomed to the band’s latest stylistic shift, Triathalon pivots in yet another challenging direction, daring its audience to keep up.
