With the release of her impressive and entrancing debut track ‘Leave You Lonely’ late last year, 22-yr-old Tara Carosielli left her mark across all the right places. Without any push whatsoever, Pigeons & Planes interviewed her for a Daily Discovery piece and she had radio support from Mistajam (BBC Radio 1), Clara Amfo (BBC Radio 1) and Jamz Supernova (BBC 1Xtra). Now the South London born artist is back and ready to release her debut EP ‘I Know You Hate Me’, from which she’s shared the lead track today. Premiering over on The Line of Best Fit, who said “The tune is dark yet glistening, honest yet guarded, subtle yet ostentatious; a layered wonder”, you can listen to the JNTHN STEIN-produced ‘Holloway Road’ below.
Tara started writing songs aged 17, and saw success as part of London rap crew and art collective Last Night In Paris. Since then, she’s worked hard on honing her craft and finding the sound that best represents her as an artist, which in itself has been an explorative process. For this EP she’s drawn inspiration from moments in her life that have brought out the darker and more playful sides of her personality; using her vulnerability to make her feel stronger and more powerful. The resulting record is raw, honest, bold and brooding; Tara has bared her soul and the results are stunning. In her words, “I’ve put my blood, sweat and tears, mind, body and soul into this project. I’m telling the whole world my secrets, which is such a terrifying thing but equally liberating and I can’t wait.”
