“Parrot Heads” are undisputedly one of the most loyal and dedicated fan bases in music history. They are the fans of world-renowned recording artist, Jimmy Buffett. The legendary history of how this amazing sub-culture came to be is chronicled in the original feature-length film, “Parrot Heads.”
From acclaimed Director, Bryce Wagoner, the film chronicles the birth of the movement when a young musician named Scott Nickerson, a big fan of Buffett’s music, decided to put an ad in a local paper to corral any Buffett fans in the Atlanta area for a get together.
What began as a small group of friends that would hang out on weekends has now grown into a worldwide organization known as Parrot Heads In Paradise, which promotes the message “party with a purpose” and have raised more than 40 million dollars in charity donations.

Armed with the thickest riffs and fieriest will, OHHMS formed in 2014 in Kent, UK. It didn’t take long for the five-piece to come up with two stellar EPs “Bloom” (October 2014) and “Cold” (June 2015), both released on London-based extreme music powerhouse Holy Roar Records. Clocking in at over thirthy minutes, each EP unfolds with two monolithic, angst-ridden tracks, blending the downtuned approach of doom metal with eerier and more progressive landscapes. On top of this distinctive approach in their songwriting, vocalist Paul Waller maintains maximum adrenaline levels by alternating between sumptuously deep gravelly singing, Viking-warrior bellows and roar-is-war call to arms.

Cynical and hedonistic, but always engaging.”
Somewhere on the Road: As Brantley Gilbert kicks off plans for the summer leg of his The Devil Don’t Sleep Tour, the working class kid from Jefferson, Georgia wants to bring some of his most hardcore, hard-working fans “into the house” for his summer’s party. So rather than merely making fan friendly seats available on the lawn, the back-to-back platinum songwriter’s carving out a chunk of seats under the pavilion – and making them available for just twenty dollars.*
“Look I love the lawn and how much fun everybody has up there,” the man who won the American Music Award for Favorite Country Album with Just As I Am acknowledges, “but I also know some of my most hardcore fans come for the music. They want to be under the roof, where they can really see and hear the show. I hate that it’s always impossible for the folks in the BG Nation, who’re trying to make ends meet, to get into those seats – so we’re teaming with Live Nation to create a Working Class ticket.”
“I know times can be tight, and no matter what you’ve got going on, if you wanna come hear the show, we’ve got you covered.”
Throughout his years of traveling, John Andrews has documented his life with his home recordings. His first record, Bit By The Fang, found him living in the amish country of Lancaster, PA. Misery, is the colonial era farmhouse John now calls his home. This is where Bad Posture was born.
Yesterday on The FADER, John Andrews & The Yawns shared the second track “Painting a Picture” off their upcoming album, Bad Posture.

Named after the idyllic place at the end of the winding Coromandel Peninsula, New Zealand, ‘Fletcher Bay’ is a heart-warming tribute to Harry’s father who tragically passed away last year. The song ‘Changing’ from the last EP was written about his father’s battle with mental health and how he was improving but things took on a new meaning after his father’s sudden passing. Pane returned to Fletcher Bay at the end of 2016 to scatter the ashes of his late father.

It has been said that you can’t get to courage without walking through vulnerability. Southern rock Nashville-based singer-songwriter Bari Leigh embodies this maxim to the hilt. The constant throughout her empowering journey is her emotional authenticity in knowing when to be tough and when to be tender. These extremes are harmoniously reflected on her fierce and compelling release, Honey & Gravel, out April 28, 2017 (Starfish Music).
Bari’s dynamic and warmly organic sensibility encompasses Southern-fried riff rock, Motown, country, classic soul, blues, and R&B. She proudly embraces the tradition of brazen female vocalists who shattered paradigms and left a trail of broken hearts. Surrounded by powerful women, Leigh studied the work of the iconic female artists who came before her, citing Janis Joplin, Bobbie Gentry, Patsy Cline and Etta James as her biggest influences.

“Set to a somewhat more lighthearted-but-still-rock, sometimes noisey soundscape, “Big Black Car” takes a joking-but-serious, pointed perspective on income inequality.” explains singer Matt Hoffman, “A street-dwelling homeless person dreams up manufacturing a successful appearance and identity, occasionally slipping in and out of reality and the headaches of poverty.”

The collection comprises studio notes, galleys and proofs, master and unreleased recordings, business papers, personal correspondence, poster art, fan gifts, rare printed material and Reed’s substantial photography collection.

ACES’ new Stranger EP follows on the heels of her critically-acclaimed series of singles from the past two years, all of which are streaming in full via Spotify. ACES is pop music on muscle relaxers… it’s the bassy backing track with sparse beats that take a back seat to Stewart’s daydreaming vocals. But to really define ACES, we need to go outside the idiom: ACES is a muted light, a French new wave film projected at half speed, a night in with a few friends and heady cocktails.

Those Lavender Whales share catchy, lo-fi gem “Lose My Mind”
“There’s good kinds of growing,” Aaron Graves sings at the outset of My Bones Are Singing, Those Lavender Whales’ second full-length release. “But there’s also some really bad types of growing.”
Ain’t that the truth. In early 2014, doctors found in Graves’s brain an astrocytoma — a rare, cloudy and life-threatening brain tumor, one that would force him into an equally cloudy and life-threatening treatment. It’s hard not to hear the imprint of Graves’s struggle on My Bones Are Singing. The waves of distorted guitars and creaking strings on the wistful “How to Cook Everything”; the spectral, almost ghostly, background vocals that echo Graves’s assertion that “I can’t do this alone” on “Open Up” — My Bones Are Singing is clearly born from great struggle. And though Graves never references his cancer directly, his songs extend thematically, grappling with frustration with ever-decreasing time, questioning your place in the universe, and the possible nonexistence of spiritual authority in a capricious world. “Oh my god, I don’t know if I can handle this,” Graves sings on “Oh My God,” a fizzy pop song with a dark, fuzz bass-driven undercurrent of shaken faith. “Oh, my God, I don’t know if you exist.”
Despite suggestions he might want to consider selling his songs for other artists to perform, NYC based singer/songwriter Noah Parker pressed on. Encouraged by family relative Cy Curnin of iconic New Wave hit makers, The Fixx, Parker is set to release his debut original single, “Fight The Feeling,” the kinetic pop tune recorded in LA and set to debut this coming Friday, March 3rd, 2017.
Produced by the Grammy® Award-nominated duo Emile Ghantous and Keith Hetrick, a.k.a. The Cartoons (Pitbull, Charlie Wilson, Boyz ll Men), the sessions have already yielded a bumper crop of material soon to be released as a series of tracks leading up to the arrival of his yet-to be titled debut album.

The Light Gathering Lens lost debut self-titled EP
Previous Seattleite and veteran underground musician The Light Gathering Lens’ Eric Burnham now lives in New Mexico, an appropriately beautiful and alien landscape from which he creates his classic 4AD-sounding, extra-terrestrial drone-pop.
Coming up out of the early post-punk scene in the Emerald City, he received acclaim for his guitar playing in the mysterious band Weather Theatre due to his addition to that band’s “dramatic, intense sound” (City Heat). He had since recorded an EP of striking, entrancing music he’d kept hidden for a couple dozen years, which he releases now, as he prepared to continue with his re-found love for making music.

Siamese is the glam rock band of four theatrically inclined friends from Dallas, TX. Mixing ominous art pop with opulent set design and deranged alter egos, their live show makes you feel like you could go out and invent a new color, or wear a leotard to work.
The group’s debut release The Mesmerist, tracked with producer Alex Bhore at the studio Elmwood Recording, is set for release March 3, 2017. With two monolithic bookends and a slew of twists in between, the record treks through the charming, soothing and savage, with lyrics inspired by sociopathic film characters and a few shades of identity crisis.

From his luxury cars to his designer clothes, everything about Special’s life is real and nothing short of extraordinary. “Foreign” is available on Spofity and iTunes now.
International Special is beloved by many of rap’s upper echelon. He has been behind-the-scenes for a while now, personally responsible for orchestrating the success of many of today’s platinum artists and chart-toppers. It was only a matter of time before Special stepped into the booth himself.

Night Argent Covers ZAYN’s “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever”
Known for their flawless renditions of songs like Imagine Dragons’ “Radioactive,” Katy Perry’s “Legendary Lovers,” Elliphant’s “Revolusion,” and Jon Bellion’s “Guillotine,” fans are constantly asking the band to cover their favorite songs. While the band gears up for their forthcoming EP, they’ve been having some fun in the studio and answering that call. “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” puts the band’s own spin on the track, breaking it down to see how well the song stood on it’s own, without a whole lot of flashy production. Due to their drummer being home sick on the day the video was recorded, the band worked as a trio, forcing them to change the dynamics and try something new.
