ECHO COURTS PREMIERE FULL STREAM OF GORGEOUS, 70S TINGED ALBUM VIA IMPOSE
In The Garden was recorded during a time of uncertainty- a time when Echo Courts was on the road with no ID- a time when playing tired songs night after night grew to be commonplace. Kelly Fahey, Luc Swift and Zack Koontz returned home from a leg of their summer 2015 tour with minds to do nothing in particular other than to sit around in Luc’s ragtag above-garage studio until something new emerged. Luc pressed record, and over a six month period, the three could be found fiddling around with guitars and pianos, listening to records as friends came and went, watching bored days turn into weeks, weeks into months. When Luc stopped recording, what was left was a set of ten songs about identity, abandoned love, uncertainty and freedom. The band kept wondering what was next, looking toward a hopeful future, asking-singing, “Doesn’t everything seem so nice from far away?” But how does one get there? The band still doesn’t seem to have an answer.
