SAMUEL JACK REVEALS BEYONCE COVER
Samuel Jack is a vintage soul in a relaxed-tee clad body. Raised on a diet of Blues, Motown, soul and roots music, Samuel Jack is an emotive storyteller seamlessly fusing the classic sounds of his upbringing with a refreshing rawness and heartfelt honesty.
Born in London, but in tow of parents pursuing their own careers, Samuel Jack spent much of his childhood bouncing between Clapham, Johannesburg and the Netherlands giving him a unique insight into the wider world and a healthy assortment of musical cultures and experiences. With such a nomadic childhood it’s perhaps not surprising that Samuel, after leaving home at 16, currently lives, writes and records his unique style of contemporary soul in a caravan on the outskirts of a small village in Somerset.

BOYO Shares “Alright”
BOYO is the fuzz-pop brainchild of 20 year-old Robert Tilden, former singer/songwriter in L.A. cult garage-band Bobby T. and the Slackers. BOYO was born out of the gradual dissolution of “Bobby T. and the Slackers,” a project that Tilden had started at age 16.
“Bobby T.” had seen local success after playing raucous sets throughout LA’s D.I.Y. and warehouse circuit with a live lineup featuring Sanam Tiffany (Danger Collective artist “Salmon”) and Cleo Tucker (of Girlpool). Tilden then released a homemade demo-tape in late 2012, getting the project opening slots for L.A. mainstays (Cherry Glazerr, Surf Curse, The Frights, Girlpool, to name a few) and touring indie acts (La Femme, the DMAs).

In The Garden was recorded during a time of uncertainty- a time when Echo Courts was on the road with no ID- a time when playing tired songs night after night grew to be commonplace. Kelly Fahey, Luc Swift and Zack Koontz returned home from a leg of their summer 2015 tour with minds to do nothing in particular other than to sit around in Luc’s ragtag above-garage studio until something new emerged. Luc pressed record, and over a six month period, the three could be found fiddling around with guitars and pianos, listening to records as friends came and went, watching bored days turn into weeks, weeks into months. When Luc stopped recording, what was left was a set of ten songs about identity, abandoned love, uncertainty and freedom. The band kept wondering what was next, looking toward a hopeful future, asking-singing, “Doesn’t everything seem so nice from far away?” But how does one get there? The band still doesn’t seem to have an answer.
