“LIGHTS OUT”
Redman and Jayceeoh are back at it again with another adrenaline-fueled 1000volts original, “Lights Out”. This record is the follow-up to the newly formed Supergroup’s debut single, “I’m Gone” feat. Trae Tha Truth, which was premiered by Billboard and supported by Rolling Stone, Huffington Post, Revolt TV, HipHopDX, HotNewHipHop, 2DopeBoyz and many more.
1000volts mission is to bridge the gap between hip-hop and electronic music, and in case there were any doubters that the Brick City lyricist missed a step, they will be once again proven wrong. In “Lights Out”, Redman opens the record by viciously throwing down bar after bar, accompanied by an anthemic melodic trap production by rising bass producer, Jayceeoh.
OVER SANDS NEW SINGLE
London based brothers Over Sands have announced their upcoming sophomore EP Roman Rooms. This follows their debut self-titled EP released at the end of 2015 via tastemaker Los Angeles label B3SCI, which saw positive reviews from critics including Clash, Indie Shuffle, Shortlist, and The Line of Best Fit.
Roman Rooms was written and recorded at Over Sands’ East London studio (far removed from the beach house where their debut was conceived).
ARMAN CEKIN RELEASES SMOOTH SUMMER JAM “CALIFORNIA DREAMING”
Synonymous with killer melodies and riveting atmospheres, in two years’ time, Arman Cekin’s story might seem like some kind of fairytale. Growing into one of the most musically prolific artists to storm onto the Electronic Music scene in the past decade, the young Dutchman has racked up a grand total of 60 million plays, with remixes of Drake’s “Hotline Bling,” Rihanna’s “Work,” Rae Sremmurd’s “This Could Be Us,” along with a load of other prominent originals and renditions. Fans weren’t the only ones that noticed Cekin’s prowess. After quickly being acknowledged by acclaimed tastemaker and music brand Trap Nation for his remarkable take on electronic music, Arman caught the eye of Armada Music and decided to join the ranks of the Dutch record company. And now, with a mint batch of breathtaking compositions ready for action and a fresh partnership with Spin Artist Agency, he is now ready for U.S. dance floor domination under the newly-launched Trap Nation label. This strong partnership with the international YouTube promotional channel will enable Cekin to achieve new heights. SUSTO’S NEW VIDEO “CHILLIN’
“Chillin’ On The Beach With My Best Friend Jesus Christ,” the new video from Charleston-based SUSTO premieres on Nerdist, who say, “It’s a catchy folk tune that functions as both bible camp parody and beachfront anthem. Regardless of whether you’re a believer, non-believer, or something in between, it’s tough to argue [the track] isn’t a ton of fun.”
ARTEFACT NEW SINGLE
Whilst also possessing the intensely detailed post pop arrangements of their previous singles, ‘Remember To Bleed’ presents its own distinct sonic world, where Jim Flanagan’s spectral voice is finally granted the time, space and central position it has always demanded. The rest of the arrangement somehow manages to combine cutting edge, Dan Lopatin like digital textures and atmospheres with new wave funk sensibilities.
And it’s fascinating stuff lyrically. Flanagan has suggested the track alludes to the ‘inevitable moment in live when you stop trying to please everyone,’ referring to the ‘great power’ that comes from realising and accepting some, perhaps many people simply won’t like you.’ And yet, you would be hard pressed to find someone who could listen to the superb “Remember to Bleed,” and feel anything but pleasure.
FEUDS RELEASE VIDEO FOR ‘RIVER OF WINE’
The ‘River Of Wine’ clip is a whirlwind collage. It’s a patchwork spin on the traditional music video; made up of old cartoons, advertisements, documentaries and military footage in the public domain. Featuring imagery from each stage of life’s development and iterations; it traverses cell formation, to birds, to mountains and a symbolic blossoming yellow flower. In spite of the explosions and bombs causing devastation, the clip stresses the connectedness between man and nature. The yellow flower highlights the potential for good and bad that lies dormant until it blooms into fruition.
AVERS PREMIERE GROOVY, INTIMATE “INSECTS” VIA THE WILD HONEY PIE
With four songwriters, four singers, and 11 tracks of guitar-saturated rock & roll, Avers’ second album, Omega/Whatever, is proof that there’s strength in numbers. The record shines new light on a band that made its first splash with 2014’s Empty Light. Avers supported that debut release by leaving their hometown of Richmond, VA, and crisscrossing the country on tour, opening for bands like Foo Fighters and J. Roddy Walston along the way. They made a national splash during the 2015 SXSW Festival, too, with everyone from Esquire Magazine to The Daily Beast listing them as one of the week’s breakout bands.

“OXYGEN PART II”
Premiered on Confront Magazine, the track is “a combination of soul, hip-hop and r&b, “Oxygen Part II” is another successful partnership between Chloe K Jones and DK.” Oxygen Part II began life with Halifax based producer DK sending Chloe K-Jones this beat that had a classic old school vibe. She wrote the distinctive, longing chorus melody and, feeling that it needed some grit in the verses, got singer Andrew Cameron and rapper Galen Hogg from Tiny Danza involved. They brought their own fervent hip-hop/soul flavour to the track. Chloe says, “The song is about needing someone like you need oxygen to breathe. It becomes an obsession.”

It seems like any minute chain stores will spring up, but for now it is undefined by the powers that be. I was struck by the beauty of an identity not yet overtaken by what has become all-too familiar-the song struck that chord with me.”

NEW BOOK, ‘GERMAN METAL MACHINE: SCORPIONS IN THE ’70s,’ TELLS THE STORY OF INFLUENTIAL ERA OF THE BAND
Few rock bands were as successful as the Scorpions by the mid ’80s – headlining arenas/stadiums worldwide, scoring two mega-selling albums (the platinum-certified ‘Blackout’ and the triple-platinum certified ‘Love at First Sting’) and two hit singles/videos (“No One Like You” and “Rock You Like a Hurricane”). But what quite a few newcomers to the band didn’t realize was that the Scorpions had been regularly recording music since 1972, and that throughout the remainder of the decade, featured two guitarists (Michael Schenker and Uli Jon Roth) at separate points that are considered legendary amongst the heavy metal masses. And while such albums as ‘Lonesome Crow,’ ‘Fly to the Rainbow,’ ‘In Trance,’ ‘Virgin Killer,’ ‘Taken by Force,’ ‘Tokyo Tapes,’ and ‘Lovedrive’ did not come close to obtaining the commercial success of the aforementioned ’80s era efforts, they inspired and influenced countless renowned musicians.

PUNKNEWS.ORG PREMIER VIDEO “HOW TO LOSE YOUR COOL” BY WE WERE SHARKS
We Were Sharks stated “We made this video with little time and zero budget. Originally, Randy was suppose to be running away from dinosaurs and oversized robots. But, in the end, we really couldn’t afford the CGI. It’s also an inspirational video to get out and start getting your body beach ready for the summer #loveyourself. But, in all seriousness, it depicts the simple idea that, in life, we sometimes have to pull ourselves out of a rut and press forward, even when the road is long.”
