Today, Grammy® Award-winning Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Red Hot Chili Peppers release the music video for their current single “Dark Necessities” from their upcoming new album The Getaway, which will be released by Warner Bros. Records tomorrow, June 17th. The video was directed by Olivia Wilde and will be available to watch today exclusively on the band’s Facebook page beginning at 10:00 AM PST following a Facebook Live Q&A with frontman Anthony Kiedis at 9:30 AM PST.

SOUL ASYLUM EXTENDS NORTH AMERICAN TOUR
Soul Asylum, the mythic garage rockers who helped shape the newly emerging contours of college radio alt-rock in the ’80s before becoming Grammy-winning multi-platinum superstars in the ’90s, have added an additional three weeks to their North American tour in support of their new album Change Of Fortune recently released on Entertainment One Music (eOne Music.)

DARKSTAR NEW EP & VIDEO
Darkstar are announcing their latest release Made To Measure due out on July 15th. The four track collection features two vocal collaborations. The opening track “Reformer” is a collaboration with Empress Of, the NYC based singer/producer who also features in the video . This is followed with Brixton-based experimental artist and current WIRE cover star Gaika on “Black Ghost”.
Since the release of last year’s Foam Island, Darkstar have been delving deeper into collaborations. They’ve been working with Jessie Ware and Gwylim Gold on production and remix duties and also remixed Giorgio Moroder for the recent Tron soundtrack. Later this summer, they’re due to step into the studio with Jamie Woon and The Square. The duo have also been honing their scoring skills writing the soundtrack for the Dreamlands short film, which was an official selection at Cannes Film Festival last month.
CERISE “TO GO AWAY”
LA by way of Chicago songstress Cerise is set to release her debut album ‘Smoke Screen Dreams,’ on June 24. This week she shares album standout track “To Go Away.” Stream it over at The 405 and on SoundCloud.
Although music has been integral to Cerise’s life since as far back as she can remember, it was her teenage days spent listening to such dark and romantic luminaries as The Cure, Bauhaus and Siouxsie And The Banshees that had the most dramatic effect. “That was the first time music really spoke to me,” she remembers. “The darkness and beauty of those bands seduced me into this other world and having a big interest in music. But it always seemed like it was the hardest thing in the world to actually do. To me, being a musician in a band seemed like being a ballerina- like you had to be trained for it from the age of six to become this amazing artist.”

Obsessive relationships that don’t exist once reality sets can be a hard thing to deal with, and the story shows the artist (kosha dillz) falling for a girl who doesn’t seem to be on the same page as the man who created it. The soundscape for Half A World Away, created by Ski Beatz (Jay-Z, Camp Lo) is the 2nd single off his upcoming July 15 release, What I Do All Day and Pickle. Kosha Dillz’ Half a World Away Tour starts June 17th in Krakow Poland for a TedX talk and a slew of solo dates + guest appearances at Festivals with good friend and collaborator Matisyahu.

“Michael” is a song about frontman Donnie Felton’s now-estranged high school best friend, and how in recalling a person we’ve lost touch with, we end up filling in the missing pieces based on our past experiences with them, our imaginations, and the mythology that develops through the filter of time and distance.
