ALI BELETIC NEW SINGLE
Ali Beletic is best known for her work as an installation artist, creating beautiful symbolic art stunts as far flung as hiking in and installing mahogany and glass Judd-like sculptural pools into remote desert, throwing parties with drummers hidden throughout backcountry, lighting up an entire boulder field you can hike through or riding vintage motorcycles backcountry to create beautiful lines of fire.
Legends of These Lands Left to Live is her long anticipated debut record, written and recorded during her time spent in the raw American landscape of the Sonoran Desert, after having left the art/punk scene and saturation of Brooklyn to explore concepts of transformation, personal rebellion, and that which exists out on the boundaries of our humanity. Filled with mysterious and emotional songs, Legends is the anthem of that journey, tracing rock n roll’s ancient history off road through personal incantations of vanguardism, and telling her vogue rebel stories from the artist streets of New York and the vast Southwest.

JOHN LEGEND AND THE AFL-CIO VISIT WASHINGTON CORRECTIONS CENTER FOR WOMEN
Ten-time Grammy® Award winner, Oscar winner and Golden Globe winner, John Legend and leaders from the AFL-CIO (The American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations), are visiting the Washington Corrections Center for Women on Thursday, April 7th to experience first-hand the challenges criminal justice employees and incarcerated people face due to the country’s broken justice system.
With over 80 billion dollars spent annually on the prison system and 1 in 3 people having a crimianal record, John Legend’s #FREEAMERICA campaign is partnering with the AFL-CIO to shed light on the impact of mass incarceration on employees and inmates. The labor movement represents both the workers and families directly impacted by the justice system. Many union members live and work in communities that are over-criminalized and have family members who are incarcerated. With the US incarcerating more people than any other country in the world, our prisons and jails are often places of violence, illness and psychological stress for both inmates and the employees.
