JOEY KNEISER (GLOSSARY) HITS THE ROAD
Joey Kneiser was a boy formed in the red-clay mountains of East Tennessee. Skinned-kneed and too blind to drive a car, he constantly searched for a place to locate his restlessness– playing in punk bands with instruments he taught himself to play, skateboarding with a pack of Oak Ridge ruffians, and writing his own songs amongst the humid Southern air.

Follin is the musical project of brother-sister duo Madeline and Richie James Follin. In the down time between record cycles of their respective bands, (Madeline of Cults and Richie of Guards/Willowz) they decided to finally record and release something together. It was an idea that they had hoped to turn into a reality for years, but time never permitted. Finally, in the summer of 2015, their schedules aligned and they were able to make it happen. Although they’ve been making music together since they were children, these songs mark their first collaborative release.
KYLE DION NEW VIDEO
Trendsetting R&B wunderkind Kyle Dion delivers an intense, sexy, and colorful video for “In Your Feelings,” debuted by VIBE Magazine, who called the video “an accurate depiction of an intense and passionate relationship.” “In Your Feelings” is the first video from Dion’s recent Painting Sounds EP, which is available to stream and purchase. Filmed in Malibu, Calabasas, Burbank, and a desert a few hours outside of Los Angeles, the video depicts the final moments of a turbulent relationship, culminating in an act of passion and violence. “You so in your feelings,” sings the 21-year-old Cali R&B singer, as his girlfriend literally hangs him out to dry upside-down in the California wilderness. “There are different layers of meaning regarding the hanging scene, but the one closest to the surface, is the girl hung me there not to kill me, but to humiliate and punish me,” Kyle Dion explained to VIBE. “The hanging and driving scenes are actually the only reality of the music video.”

TROPICAL ZOMBIE RUN WILD IN NEW VIDEO
Sydney surf sextet Tropical Zombie want you to have a rip-snorter of a time. It’s just in their nature: nothing is serious. Nothing is sacred. Everything is a scuzzed-out fever dream; and the video for their latest single ‘Call The Police’ is no exception.
Deadset legends Pilerats premiered the track last week – dubbing it “perfectly suited” to accompany draining “a frothy down at the beach”. Trust the dudes from TZ to take that notion, turn it upside out, and viciously shake it up. Just like that frothy. Featuring a depressed zebra-man, a hippo-human with childhood bullying issues and a giraffe that doesn’t really know what’s going on, this is not a clip for the rationalist in you.

Premiered today via NPR Music’s “All Songs Considered”, Daoud Tyler-Ameen says “Out of the Garden is just phenomenal… this to me feels like a breakthrough, I feel like they’ll have a good year.”
RICHARD LOMAX NEW SINGLE
Woe betide any music critic that tries to keep up with Lomax, his sonic dreams and spasms of surrealist eccentricity: in 2014 he wrote a new song a week, released every seven days. It’s this addicting ingenuity-filled, exploration of human values that makes Richard Lomax’s work so triumphant. Magnificent choruses gather themselves around impeccable vocals, curious choices of instrumentation, and invigorative rhythm. Lyrically, thrilling storytelling meanders between narrative monologue, delivered with deftly-precise, moreish intonation.
A hyper-observant author, Lomax’s ‘Weapons Of Mass Destruction’ pens the struggle of heart vs. head in a swirling display at the confluence of mildly rocking baroque pop and blazing riffs.

The second, You, starts with a guitar arpeggio, complemented by a drum-machine rhythm. The track tells the story of a soul conditioned by sentiments, where the mis-taken moment and the words not said end up ruining everything.

ROB CROW ALBUM STREAM
Rob Crow will release You’re Doomed. Be Nice. on March 4 via Temporary Residence Ltd. Stereogum is streaming the album in full ahead of Friday’s release date. Stereogum says, “You’re Doomed. Be Nice. features lots of intricately entwined guitar parts that stagger, stop, and go — the urgent delicacy of “Light On,” for instance. Though the guitars are heavy on melody, their rhythm is confrontationally juxtaposed with confessional lyrics that explore Crow’s frustrations and anxieties, such as “You don’t scare me, I was born scared” in the smartly titled “Quit Being Dicks.” Crow considered pulling back from music because of his unease with the toxicity of the industry, but coming out of this gloomy place, he has cultivated emotional, witty, new music in You’re Doomed. Be Nice. that encapsulates his struggles and faces them head on.” Rob Crow’s Gloomy Place tour kicks of tonight in Phoenix at The Rebel Lounge.
DISCOGS RELEASES APP FOR IOS
One of, if not the, most anticipated segment of the Discogs 15 year anniversary is finally being released this week; the Discogs app makes its way live and wide to the public. Like any top-tier, user-friendly application, the Discogs app is ever evolving. It is being approached in the way Discogs approaches all their projects in that the company will continue to listen and respond to the community’s requests and feedback.
The app’s beginning functionality will focus on the overwhelmingly most popular aspect of the Discogs platform: collection and wantlist, with more sorting and filtering options currently in development. For the last decade and a half, Discogs has consistently listened to their user base, (which, if you have any experience with vinyl collectors, can be a divisive and loud collective voice to absorb!) and adapted, rather than press unnecessary or superfluous features on them, and that will be the identical approach with their app.
