Idle Bloom came together in 2014 and had their first show at the Exit/In on March 17th, a venue they frequented separately and finally occupied together. Prior to assembling, Olivia and Katie played side-by-side in Fancytramp and pushed each other to grow musically until they met Callan and Weston, who are fundamental in evolving the layering of sounds they have today.

NEW DOCUMENTARY LGBT DANCEHALL
Today, Noisey presents Out & Bad, a new documentary exploring the origins and culture of London’s LGBT dancehall scene, co-directed by VICE’s Daisy-May Hudson and independent filmmaker Kartel Brown.
Out & Bad charts the struggles of the black gay community and the creation of a dancehall scene in the UK, which provided a lifeline for so many, allowing them to celebrate who they were within their own culture.
Battle Ave. is a dark pop band formed in upstate New York in 2009 by songwriter Jesse Alexander and drummer Samantha Niss. After releasing their debut album War Paint, a heavy & cathartic roller coaster filled with “messy emotional pivots” (Stereogum) in 2011, the band returned to the studio with longtime producer & wise sage Kevin McMahon (Titus Andronicus, The Walkmen, Widowspeak) to make Year of Nod, a collection of subtle and atmospheric indie rock. Currently they are making a dent in the upstate/NYC venue circuit, playing DIY and more traditional venues alike and regularly appearing at Shea Stadium, Palisades, & BSP Kingston.
JOURNEY SINGER ARNEL PINEDA SIGNS WITH IMAGEN RECORDS
There is no denying the exceptional vocal talents of Arnel Pineda, as evidenced with his long-time work with one of rock’s most enduring acts, Journey. Arnel also recently signed a multi-record deal with Imagen Records, which will be issuing the much-anticipated album in 2016. “I am very proud and excited to have such a worldwide sensation as Arnel added to our lineup at Imagen Records,” says president Bob Winegard.

NITA STRAUSS TO HOST SHE ROCKS AWARDS
The Women’s International Music Network (the WiMN) is thrilled to announce that Nita Strauss will co-host the 2016 She Rocks Awards. Honoring women who stand out as role models in the music industry, the She Rocks Awards will take place Friday, Jan. 22, 2016, in Anaheim, Calif., during the Winter NAMM Show.
“I’m so excited to be a part of the She Rocks Awards this year, and join Laura Whitmore and the WiMN to honor some of the incredible women in all the different aspects of our industry,” said Strauss.
Hosting duties will be shared between Strauss and WiMN Founder Laura B. Whitmore. “Nita Strauss has serious chops and is a role model for guitarists everywhere. When I asked her to join us for the She Rocks Awards, she didn’t hesitate. It will be a pleasure to share the podium with her!,” said Whitmore.
INTERNATIONAL SONGWRITING COMPETITION (ISC) REOPENS ENTRIES FOR “STOCKING STUFFER” HOLIDAY PROMOTION

SKIZZY MARS UNVEILS “ALONE TOGETHER”
Atlantic recording artist Skizzy Mars has announced the release of his eagerly awaited debut. “ALONE TOGETHER” drops everywhere on January 22nd.
Produced by longtime collaborator Michael Keenan, “Alcoholics“ had its world premiere last week as part of a major feature in The Village Voice, which noted, “(‘Alcoholics’) shows Skizzy’s indulgences in plain sight — libations, pills, anything to slow down time so as to buy a few more hours until sunrise. Besides a stacked tracklist of the best sounds Lisbon has had to over the past decade, Branko’s “10 Years Of Lisbon Sound” features never before heard material from rapper Azealia Banks. While still performing under her moniker Mis$ Banks, the young MC linked up with Branko to lay down verses on his band Buraka Som Sistema’s hit “Kalembe (Wegue Wegue)” back in 2011. Having never seen the light of day until now, the track, heard around the 38-minute mark, finds the then underground Banks laying down a dose of the whirlwind rhymes that have now come to define her as a superstar. UEFA EURO 2016 X DAVID GUETTA
Global DJ and music producer David Guetta has today called for 1 million fans to record with him and be part of the Official Song of UEFA EURO 2016. UEFA’s EURO 2016 music ambassador will create the soundtrack for the tournament next summer and he wants as many fans as possible to take part.
“I’m so excited to be working with UEFA on this project in my home country. UEFA EURO 2016 is all about the fans and I want to put them at the heart of everything, especially the music. So I’m trying something very special and asking fans around the world to celebrate this festival of football by being part of the Official Song,” said David Guetta.
The Frenchman, who will write and produce the song, will be the figurehead for UEFA’s global music campaign that will also include live performances at the Stade de France at the opening and closing ceremonies, a free fan concert in central Paris at the Champ de Mars underneath the Eiffel Tower and an interactive experience as part of the UEFA EURO 2016 Trophy Tour.

R. CITY ANNOUNCE FIRST U.S. TOUR
R. City has announced its first U.S. tour in support of the release of their major label debut album WHAT DREAMS ARE MADE OF on Kemosabe Records/RCA Records. R.E.M. FINDS INDEPENDENCE ONCE AGAIN
