“HANDS UP, DON’T SHOOT!” BY NASA FT SEAN PAUL AND LIZZO VIDEO

Check out the new video from N.A.S.A. for his inspired track “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot!” feat Sean Paul and Lizzo. The song is available now, and all proceeds go to the below charities. Of the video Sam Spiegel of N.A.S.A. states:

“After seeing all of this craziness going down with police brutality over the last year, i felt like i had to do a song about it. I know it’s a complex problem. Policemen have one of the hardest jobs in the world, but there is a real endemic issue here around abuse of power and lack of consequence for wrongdoing. One positive thing that’s come out of all of this, and something that’s inspired me quite a bit, has been seeing young people rise up and let their voices be heard. As a child of a generation that was largely apathetic, it’s been beautiful seeing people feeling empowered, speaking out, and trying to bring about change. As a culture of young people around the globe, i feel like we are more mobilized and politically empowered than i ever remember.”

LAWSON ROLLINS MUSIC IN BARNES & NOBLES

The guitar-guided world music excursions that you hear this month in Barnes & Noble stores throughout the United States come from the recently released “Traveler,” the critically-hailed fifth album from globetrotting guitarist Lawson Rollins. Debuting upon release in the Top 20 of the iTunes world music chart, the disc produced by Rollins and platinum-selling producer-engineer Dominic Camardella consists of a dozen meticulously performed, multicultural amalgams composed by Rollins inspired by his wanderlust for global gallivanting. The session’s second single, “Berlin Bossa,” dances onto Billboard’s most added chart this week, its first official week at radio.

The record concludes with an elaborate triptych, “The Urban Trilogy,” comprised of a sprawling fusion of cosmopolitan nuances (“Metropolis”), remnants of the Old World (“Ancient City”) and an exhilarating glimpse into the future (“City Electric”). The high-caliber musicians who joined Rollins in getting their passports stamped during the “Traveler” sessions include Grammy-winning violinists Mads Tolling and Charlie Bisharat, Randy Tico (bass), Dave Bryant (drums & percussion) and Cameron Stone (cello).
