CURRENT SWELL ADDS HEADLINING DATES TO NORTH AMERICAN TOUR
Canada’s Current Swell are excited to announce U.S. headlining dates this winter. The rock band, who are already set for a spring tour with Cat Empire, will launch the solo leg on February 16th in the D.C area. The new dates will bring them to Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Minneapolis, Denver, St. Louis and numerous other midwestern cities before ending on March 4th in Nashville, TN. The North American tour with Australian band Cat Empire will begin a month later in Canada and will bring the band back to the U.S. to play several major cities on the East and West Coast in April.
SVIET MARGOT SIGN FOR AGOGE RECORDS
The indie-rock band SVIET MARGOT signed for AGOGE RECORDS. The band, who has to its credit several live concerts and airplays, and participation in soundtracks, is already working with producer Gianmarco Bellumori to recording next album.
TITLE TRACK OF UPCOMING LADY LAZARUS LP
Consequence of Sound premieres “Miracles,” the title track from Lady Lazarus’ upcoming album, calling it “impressive” and praising it as a “gentle ballad with a of pop sensibility that’s relatively fresh to her work.” The acclaimed solo project of artist Melissa Ann Sweat, Miracles marks her third album as Lady Lazarus—the first on her new label Queen’s Ransom. PRIMITIVE MAN EP TRAILER
Denver blackened doom heathens, PRIMITIVE MAN, will release a special 12″ EP next month via Relapse Recordings. Fittingly titled, Home Is Where The Hatred Is, the four track slab was tracked at Flatline Audio by Dave Otero (Cephalic Carnage, Catheter, Cobalt, etc.) and delivers thirty-one heinous minutes of nihilistic, feedback-doused audio atrocities brimming with gnarled riff torrents and enough fury to level a nation. Home Is Where The Hatred Is will be limited to 750 copies on black standard gram wax and 250 copies on silver standard gram wax.
LIFE IN FILM “CLOSER”
Produced by Stephen Street (The Smiths, Blur, Kaiser Chiefs), ‘Get Closer’ is an upbeat indie-pop song that fuses a blues sentiment with introspective lyrics, catchy hooks and propulsive rhythms. Today, the UK based four piece premiere the infectious tune exclusively on the iconic Interview Magazine.

Arkutec met Dev3n on social media in 2010. “I was definitely listening to a lot of older progressive rock when I was making the beats for Equality,” says Arkutec. “Stuff my dad used to play, like Pink Floyd and Yes – also a lot of ELO and Genesis. I was also bumping a lot of Jake One, Dilla, and Madlib beats around the time – so I had to get some heavy drums and live percussions.”
ZRO FOX EP STREAM
ZRO FOX are striving to make 2015 their year. Between Hologram Kizzie claiming ZRO FOX is “more than just rap” or ProbCause sharpening his signature internal rhymes, ZRO FOX are bringing synergy back. Enlisting producers Drew Mantia and Wes P., who provide experimental backdrops, ProbCause and Hologram Kizzie deliver their abrasive, abstract rhymes on their ZRO FOX EP.
Following a group show in Chicago this past Sunday, ProbCause is on the Escape From Winter tour with New Orleans Prog Funk band Earphunk, with stops in many of the Southern states.

Nettwerk recording artist William Close & The Earth Harp Collective – a team of musicians, dancers, aerialists and artists – will bring their unique performance-based experience to the official NFL Super Bowl XLIX Tailgate Party, alongside fellow musicians Dierks Bentley and Gavin DeGraw. Jessica Hopper, a staple in the contemporary music scene and cultural journalist based in Chicago, has firmly established herself as one of the leading names in criticism and a firebrand of the form. After 20 years in the industry, she has touched on just about every aspect – publicist, artist, critic, editor and author. Her latest contribution is a collection of essays entitled The First Collection of Criticism by A Living Female Rock Critic, a bold and incredibly relevant statement in 2015.
HUNDRED WATERS LISTEN TO “CAVITY (SHIGETO REMIX)”
Hundred Waters have announced an ambitious new version of last year’s critically acclaimed sophomore album The Moon Rang Like a Bell comprised entirely of remixes, due out on OWSLA on February 17. Tapping a plethora of like-minded, forward-thinking musicians and producers the final work consists of remixes and reconceptualizations by Plaid, Huxley, Illangelo, Brandt Bauer, Shigeto, Kodak to Graph, and reworkings by members of the band among others (full tracklist below). With Nicki Minaj – “Only” (Whiiite Remix), Whiiite effortlessly blends cutting-edge dance music with a thumping odyssey of 808s over Minaj’s original haunting and minimalistic hip-hop beat. PARADISE FEARS NEW LYRIC VIDEO
South Dakota-formed pop-alternative band Paradise Fears have defied all odds. Through their unwavering passion and dedication to making great music, they’ve carved out their own placement in the music landscape. Big pop choruses and rock-soaked melodies are only scratching the surface of this five-piece band, as evidenced on their new single “Who We Were With,” produced by Dan Book (songwriting credits include Hot Chelle Rae‘s “I Like It Like That” and Big Time Rush‘s “Amazing”).
CHIP Z’NUFF RELEASES FIRST SOLO RECORD
On February 3, Deadline Music (imprint of Cleopatra Records) will release STRANGE TIME, the first solo album by Chip Z’nuff. The 10-track record marks a departure from the trademark Enuff Z’nuff trip-pop sound, with heavier guitars and more psychedelic elements. In addition to special guest appearances, the album includes a bonus 5-track EP collaboration with Steven Adler (Guns ‘n Roses).
“It’s a stoner rock record,” said Z’nuff, matter-of-factly. “What I have with Enuff Z’nuff is special, but this is a labor of love. I started these songs while going through every type of hard time – family, finances, relationships – and found moments of clarity while writing.” He also called on some tour buddies and long-time friends to guest on the record.

Originally hailing from Virginia Beach, VA, Suburban Living released their acclaimed debut EP, Cooper’s Dream, in 2012, followed by the “Always Eyes” 7″ single in 2013 on Dialog Records. The 1980’s was an extremely busy and fertile time for heavy metal, as quite a few sub-genres first rose to prominence during this time, including thrash metal, hair metal, and power metal. And one of the unsung heroes/trailblazers for the latter style is Ruthless. Hailing from Los Angeles and responsible for two classics of the metal underground (the 1984 EP ‘Metal Without Mercy’ and 1986’s full-length ‘Discipline of Steel’), Ruthless is reloaded with a powerful new line-up, and a brand new full-length, ‘They Rise,’ which will be released on Friday, January 30th.
