THE AMAZING (MEMBERS OF DUNGEN, GRANADA) SHARE NEW SONG “THE HEADLESS BOY”
Following the late 2014 unveiling of “Picture You,” the lead single off of The Amazing’s forthcoming album of the same name, the Swedish five-piece have now released a second song titled “The Headless Boy.” Debuting on NPR’s All Songs Considered podcast yesterday, NPR host Robin Hilton compared the ballad to a lost Nick Drake song, noting “the whole record has a dreamy, beautiful vibe.” The notoriously reclusive band does not have stateside touring plans, but will be available in New York for promo at the end of January.
LADIES OF METAL NEW SINGLE
Famined Records’ artist Prime Meridian has partnered with Ladies Of Metal to exclusively premiere the band’s new single after playing it on their radio station yesterday afternoon. The single, entitled “Jackal,” is the band’s second single since the release of their 2013 full length Dialogues. Vocalist Shae Portner had this to say on the single, “The song is about an individual who deliriously wakes with a tunnel visioned image of his worst nightmare. He finds himself being dragged across cold wet cement drenched in the blood of others’ chandelier limbs.

SUMMER HEART NEW SINGLE ON NOISEY
While you might get the lo-fi chillwave vibe, (akin to bands like Washed Out, Teen Daze, and Toro y Moi) in singles like “Sleep” and “U Got All I’m Looking For,” the sound of Summer Heart (who has before supported bands like Yelle and Niki and the Dove) is familiar, yet all its own. It’ll take you back to that time you re-found a box of Polaroids under your bed from that one Fourth of July, where you ran around barefoot with sparklers and drove with the windows down.
WYNDHAM NEW YORKER HOTEL PARTNERS WITH ROCNATION
The Wyndham New Yorker Hotel has partnered with the entertainment company RocNation for their first-ever boxing event taking place this Friday, January 9, 2015 at the Theatre at Madison Square Garden. The first of three cards, titled “Throne Boxing,” will be headlined by welterweight boxer Dusty Hernandez-Harrison and Tommy Rainone.

INTERSCOPE RECORDING ARTIST AUDIO PUSH JOIN WALE
HS87/Interscope recording artist, Audio Push will join Maybach Music Group/Atlantic recording artist Wale on the SIMPLE Mobile Simply Nothing Tour. They will begin the tour in Philadelphia on Friday, January 9 and wrap in Norfolk on February 19. Audio Push gears up for the release of their debut album with their new single “Quick Fast” featuring Wale, available now at all digital retailers. Philly / Brooklyn MC hip-hop artist Kuf Knotz will release his sophomore studio album, A Positive Light, on Ropeadope Records on March 24, 2015. The ‘Urban Zen’ musician invited a different guest artist to appear on each track while recording the album between New Jersey and Amsterdam. The result is a dynamic effort showcasing a unique blend of progressive and golden age hip hop, soul, blues, jazz, world and reggae music.
Kuf Knotz’s eloquent positive-charged rhymes create an underlying cohesive foundation for A Positive Light, allowing for his bevy of musical influences to flow from track to track. “My music’s always had a pretty broad spectrum as far as influences go,” says Kuf, “it feels really natural to blend genres.”

DAN WILSON LAUNCHES A SONG CAN BE ABOUT ANYTHING MUSIC
Grammy-winning singer/songwriter/producer Dan Wilson has launched A Song Can Be About Anything Music, a co-venture with Big Deal Music Publishing designed to sign artists and writers to publishing deals. Wilson’s first signing is Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter Jenny Owen Youngs. Youngs has four albums and three EPs to her credit, and her songs have been heard on numerous TV shows including “Weeds,” “Nurse Jackie,” “Suburgatory” and “Switched at Birth.”

HEEMS ANNOUNCES DEBUT ALBUM AND RELEASES NEW SINGLE
When Das Racist emerged on the NY scene, the music world was stunned at the originality and potential of the band – enough so that SPIN put the then unknown trio on its cover in 2011. Ultimately Das Racist parted ways, but 2015 finds Heems AKA Himanshu Suri arriving with a similar socially-conscious ethos mixed with biting racial commentary and of course, a sense of fun on his debut solo album Eat, Pray, Thug out on Greedhead/Megaforce Records. In 2014 the Queens, NY native was hard at work creating music for the “Punjab” episode of CNN’s Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown and conducting lectures on race and rap at Princeton, Stanford, Amherst and Reed all while running his Greedhead Music record label.
WISH “SLACKER” ON SPIN
“Slacker” employs hypnotic, lithe guitars, effectively blending melody with distortion over a motorik beat. The video, which follows the band’s Kyle Connolly during a magical aquarium tour, was directed by Luke McClutcheon.
DREW STEPHENSON IN “VAMPIRE DIARIES”
Music, modeling and acting are among the top three career goals for many in the entertainment field, but it is a well known fact that only a small percentage actually make any real headway in all three pursuits. Up and comer Drew Stephenson will not tell you that he is different, but he will show you with his persistence, determination and dedication. So much so that the young actor just stepped off the USA Network’s newest television drama, “Complications,” and is now celebrating landing a recurring role on one of television’s top suspense series, “Vampire Diaries,” on The CW. Stephenson will play Collin, an integral character to the show’s plot, on two consecutive shows, starting January 22, 2015.
