FULL STREAM PREMIERE OF DEBUT ALBUM ‘PRO DREAMS’
Pro Dreams is an evocative, dreamy collection, recorded in numerous studios across three New York boroughs (and one Massachusetts attic) with the help of co-producer Brian Thorn (Blonde Redhead, Smith Westerns, David Bowie). The songs are rooted lyrically in the death of singer Blair’s younger brother – a natural continuation from her debut solo LP Die Young (Autumn Tone 2011) – and branches into ruminations on matters including: loves lost, found, and unrequited; life in New York City; regret and friendship; lovers as friends; friends as lovers; and this ridiculous planet. Musically, Pro Dreams ranges from the easy, subtle cascades of opener “The Rainbowed Air” to the aching, forlorn pop of “Call It Spring” and “Party In Heaven”; from the dreamy slow jams of “Saving Private Rihanna” and “Double Thoughts” to the moody synth-laden pulse of “MLSBB.” The album feels fresh and versatile from start to finish: at once a breakup and makeup, rainy day in and night out record.

MGK DROPS A NEW VIDEO “TIL I DIE”
Single now available at all digital retailers:
NEW ALBUM BY THE PACKWAY HANDLE BAND
The Packway Handle Band likely had no idea just how wild a trip they were packing for when they asked fellow Georgian Jim White to produce their album, but before they knew it, Take It Like a Man was a full-on collaboration by a conjoined entity known as Jim White vs. The Packway Handle Band. Yep Roc Records will unleash the result on January 27, 2015; White and the band will celebrate by unleashing their anything-but-traditional bluegrass sound at fine establishments throughout the South. (See dates below.)
Word of their unorthodox union is already being heralded with pronouncements such as this one from No Depression, hailing the album as “a joyous collision of styles that adds a bit of ‘edge’ and some pretty cool melodies to this straight-laced music.”
DYLAN GARDNER TO RELEASE DEBUT ALBUM TODAY
Singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Dylan Gardner releases his debut album, Adventures in Real Time, via Warner Bros Records today. Co-produced by Gardner and Jack Dragonetti (The Submarines, Jack Drag), the album is a stellar showcase for the 18-year-old Illinois native’s brisk hooks, high-spirited melodies, and a musical eclecticism that reflects his deep love for his pop-rock predecessors, including The Beatles, Ben Folds, and Vampire Weekend.
Gardner first began to attract attention with the album’s opening track “Let’s Get Started” when he put it up on Spotify earlier this year. After being included on a popular playlist called “Smart Is The New Sexy,” the track caught fire and began racking up plays. (It is now close to three million.)
PSYCHIC RITES SHARE NEW SINGLE “ELOHIM” VIA GOLDFLAKEPAINT
Formed of equal parts creation and desolation, Psychic Rites’ brand of dark, sugary dance pop pierces through the alt-country air and aimlessly hip rolling hills of the Pacific Northwest with an unmatched sense of urgency and frenetic freshness. With a musical focus on the joy and pain of exploration and experimentation, it only seems natural that this ensemble harbors a deep-seated DIY mentality extending beyond the sound waves. Their hands on approach involves every aspect of their manufactured Neon Doom Disco. The outcome is a seamless, infectious blend of romanticized intellectual independence and the electro-sex sounds of bands like The Knife, Goblin, and Giorgio Moroder. Psychic Rites is currently finishing their debut album.
