PARTICLE WINTER 2015 TOUR
Particle has just announced a month long run of coast-to-coast shows that kick off their Winter Tour 2015. The livetronica pioneers kick things off on January 9th in Cambridge, MA and then head north and west to Burlington, VT, Syracuse, NY and Pittsburgh, PA. The band then continues west, hitting key markets throughout the run, including: Columbus, Minneapolis, Denver, Portland and Seattle. Particle will wrap up with a grand finale at the legendary Great American Music Hall in San Francisco on February 6th.
After a successful Fall run throughout the East and Midwest, Particle is back in action full-time and hitting the ground running. Particle’s sound combines elements of Electronic, Space-Funk, Rock and Jam with a heavy emphasis on improvisation and deep sonic exploration.

NEW ALCOA ALBUM IN FEBRUARY 2015
The sophomore full-length from Alcoa, Parlour Tricks, arrives upon a very new and invigorating chapter in Derek Archambault’s life. The singer and guitarist, who also fronts the rising hardcore/punk band Defeater, has had an intense time since Alcoa’s 2013 debut Bone & Marrow; he got married, for one thing; for another, he had major surgery with a hip replacement after a debilitating injury. After a successful campaign on crowd-funding site PledgeMusic (resulting in the recently released covers EP, Thank You), he had the imminent surgery, got back on his feet, and immediately began working on new music with both Defeater and his alt-rock/country-leaning Alcoa. Recording near his home, in Portsmouth, NH, provided a warm and familiar environment with bandmate and engineer Mike Moschetto, etching out a slightly twangy and honest sound with shades of wistful, jangly 90’s alternative rock acts.

STRAIGHT NO CHASER AT THE INDIANAPOLIS 500
Atlantic Records recording group Straight No Chaser will perform “(Back Home Again in) Indiana” during the pre-race festivities for the 2015 Indianapolis 500 on May 24.
The world-renowned a cappella group, founded in 1996 at Indiana University-Bloomington, will sing the traditional song in 2015 as legendary entertainer Jim Nabors retired after the 2014 race, having performed the song live 35 times since 1972.
“One of the most cherished traditions each year at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway is the singing of ‘(Back Home Again in) Indiana’ and we are pleased that Straight No Chaser will join us next May to perform as we lead up to the start of the 99th Indianapolis 500,” said J. Today’s song is “Christmas, Baby Please Come Home” written by Ellie Greenwich, Jeff Barry, and Phil Spector. Christmas was originally written for Ronnie Spector to sing, but Phil was not happy with how much emotion or lack of emotion Ronnie put into the recording so Darlene Love was called into the studio to perform the track, and it has since gone on to become one of her signatures. I got to see Darlene perform this one in a Red Bank car lot in 2009 and her performance was AMAZING. I have never cried while recording a vocal, but I did on this one. I was thinking of someone very close to me who passed away last year.

Republic Records announced today that it will release the official soundtrack album for one of 2015’s most highly anticipated films, Universal Pictures and Focus Features’ Fifty Shades of Grey. With the announcement, platinum-selling XO/Republic Records artist The Weeknd released his contribution to the soundtrack, “Earned It (Fifty Shades of Grey),” – the first official release from the drama’s soundtrack.
