JES SHINES WITH SPIRIT THIS HOLIDAY SEASON WITH NEW SOLO TRACK “TWO SOULS”

JES has been synonymous with A-list DJ collaborations for as long as there has been an A-list for DJ’s. “Two Souls” is her first truly solo release for sometime and puts an alluring musical spin on the new year.

“Two Souls” is a true music festival anthem. JES drew her inspiration for the song from every near miss and chance meeting that embodies the festival experience. “I wanted to write something that encapsulates the feeling of being together but alone,” said JES. “You’re in this place with thousands of other people but you feel somehow outside it all. You know that you can’t be the only one that feels that way. I wanted to write something for those people, a song for the outsiders.”

KHARY DURGAN VIDEO “SWIM TEAM”

Thoughts from Khary on “Swim Team”: “Opus Proper produced the beat and it was pretty left field from what I was used to making, but it was perfect. A few months prior I had released my debut project, Love + Anchors, which was overall a pretty humble project/over looked, so I wanted to make something a lot more in your face,” the New York-based MC told FADER.

MICKEY CUPID VIDEO “OH YOU”

“Our music is pop – simple and melodic… inviting and sexy,” says vocalist Marcus Harmon of electropop duo MICKEY CUPID. For a band whose very name evokes Disney’s signature mascot and the Roman deity of desire, Mickey Cupid’s new independently-released EP PARADE is playful and fresh while being deeply rhythmic and sultry, showcasing a newfound maturity for a band that is little more than four years old. “This EP feels to us like going back to when we started this band,” adds producer Matt Nannetti. “We didn’t want to think too much about where to take our music or who we wanted to sound like. We just wanted to make music that felt fresh to us, and that we would be happy to perform on stage.”

The first single and video “Oh You” captures that intent perfectly, hitting hard with an Outkast-like crunch and infused with sauntering and immediate pop lusciousness. The video can be viewed here:

GEORGE MAPLE’S “VACANT SPACE” VIDEO PREMIERES AT THE FADER

“Vacant Space has become my favorite track on the EP but it took me a while to even decide to include it in on the record,” George Maple says of the song. “I guess it’s written from a pretty sad place. It’s that moment you have where you realize something’s not working anymore and you’re hanging onto something out of familiarity or comfort. The whole song came together so quickly but it was almost uncomfortable to re-visit after I had written it. I was being honest with myself about a situation for the first time and I don’t think wanted to admit it to myself. I think a lot of the time the truth can be a lot more painful to deal with.”
