TINASHE MAKES OFFICIAL DEBUT ON THE BILLBOARD CHARTS
With three impressive self-released mixtapes under her creative belt, Tinashe’s major label album debut, Aquarius, makes its official entry onto the Billboard charts. Released on October 7 via RCA Records, the critically adored Aquarius enters at #3 on this week’s Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop albums chart, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Aquarius also topped the iTunes’ R&B/Soul chart, arriving at #1 just minutes after its official release.
PITBULL SET TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM

THE CROOKES PREMIERE LOW REMIX OF “ECHOLALIA”
The Crookes have premiered a new remix of the song “Echolalia” by the venerable music group Low today via The Onion’s AV Club. “It’s a great tune,” said Alan Sparhawk of Low, “we figured we had to go somewhere completely different to do it justice.” “Echolalia” is featured on The Crookes sophomore North American full-length, Soapbox, released in April on Modern Outsider. Orlando-based folk singer/songwriter Matthew Fowler kicked off his two-month long “Bring a Friend” tour last month that will take him to 25+ cities with fellow Orlandoan artist Reggie Williams. The two also collaborated on a special EP together specifically recorded for this tour called the Bring a Friend EP. The six song record features two brand new tracks and one previously released track from each artist. BREAKFAST IN FUR SIGN TO BAR/NONE RECORDS
New Jersey independent label, Bar/None Records has announced it has signed the Hudson Valley, NY quintet, Breakfast In Fur, to its excellent roster of artists, and will release the band’s debut full-length record in early 2015. Owner/Operator Glenn Morrow stated, “We were impressed by the rich sonic variety of the recordings Breakfast In Fur had completed, and were even more surprised that they could pull the whole thing off in a live setting.” On joining the Bar/None roster, Dan Wolfe of Breakfast In Fur said, “We’re really excited to be on a label that has released so many records we love. Instrumental band STEELISM have just released the video for “Marfa Lights,” a track from their Single Lock Records debut, 615 to Fame. Inspired by vintage educational shorts and the British BBC comedy show “Look Around You,” the video was filmed in Nashville and directed by Nashville filmmaker/musician Stewart Copeland. The video is premiering now at NPR’s “All Songs TV” which you can view here.
