BAD COP POST “WISH YOU WELL”
Firmly planted outside of any political spectrum, while sticking to their loud, unabashed DIY principles, Bad Cop formed in 2009 and immediately caught the interest of one of America’s oldest punk labels, ROIR, home to Bad Brains, and releases from the Beastie Boys, MC5, Television and more. Since the release of their first album Harvest The Beast on ROIR, Bad Cop went on to establish their own label, toured relentlessly, and honed their inimitable style of no-frills American rock & roll.

DREAM POLICE (FOUNDING MEMBERS OF THE MEN) SHARE “POURING RAIN”
Having recently announced their debut LP as Dream Police, Mark Perro and Nick Chiericozzi (best known as the founding members of The Men) are sharing “Pouring Rain” from Hypnotized with us today.
“Pouring Rain” sees the band still utilizing the driving pulse of their Roland 707 drum machine that we first heard on the title track “Hypnotized” paired with some of Nick Chiericozzi’s most impressive guitar work to date — bursts of tremolo bar washes not unlike Loveless-era My Bloody Valentine soar in and out throughout the track. “Pouring Rain” is a perfect example of what Perro and Chiericozzi do best: working together.
LOS ANGELES INDIE ART ROCK BAND REPEATER RELEASE NEW SINGLE “LONELY”
“‘Lonely’ is an exercise in pulsating simplicity, inspired by singles by bands like New Order and The Big Pink, and a little bit of Big Beat electronica,” writer and singer Steve Krolikowski explained. “It’s a reflection on love, and the selfish feelings that prevent us from loving sometimes. The past creeps in and hangs a few clouds on the horizon, but they are phantoms, nothing more. Repeater’s last full-length release was heavy darkness with a pinhole of light. Now the shutters are wide open.”

WANNABE JALVA NEW SINGLE VIA EW
Brazilian quartet Wannabe Jalva hail from southern Brazil, near the country’s borders with Argentina and Uruguay, and not coincidentally, their music largely forgoes the tropical flavor the country’s best known for in favor of a more sere sonic approach that seems to reflect their proximity to the Pampas. Their latest EP, Collecture (out Oct. 15), offers a compellingly austere take on psych rock that avoids the clichéd gaudiness that often afflicts the form, and brings to mind The Strokes as often as it does Os Mutantes or Pink Floyd. Run through with heavy, Jodorowsky-esque mysticism, the album’s a straight up trip.
