It was a minor splash but a splash nonetheless. Those who hold dear the mid-nineties release of The Marilyn Decade on Freek Records love it for it’s gorgeous melancholic guitar playing and jangles. Information on who the two guitarists were who compose the band remained a mystery.
Thanks to intrepid music journo Ned Ragget, some of that mystery can be answered. Richard Conway-Jones, one half of The Marilyn Decade, has been maintaining a website featuring his musical releases and paintings. He’s been creating art from his Twyford home for over two decades. Ba Da Bing is releasing a best-of cassette compilation, with songs chosen by the artist himself. Sadly, the other half of the band, Michael Beard, passed away last month.
