ENNUI SINGLE “CIRCLES”
Ennui is the brainchild of renowned Pittsburgh-based musician and producer Jim Doutrich, and has been around in various incarnations since 2004. Though there is no shortage of hooks, “Circles”, “Summer Of Love”, and “Telepathic Beat” stand out in style and substance as roller-beats immersed in a bath of shimmering neo-shoegaze, creating a widescreen backdrop to act as home for brain-embedding melodies and subtly haunting lyrics.

NEW SINGLE BY RETRO
PotholesInMyBlog premieres 22-year-old rapper RETRO’s second single, “1946,” from of his forthcoming mixtape, The Six. Inspired by hometown heroes from Detroit’s J Dilla to ATL’s OutKast, and undeniable talents like Michael Jackson and Erykah Badu, RETRO implements a variety of musical influences into his own style. The track features fellow ATL rappers Jugg and G5 and displays the trios notable Atlanta drawl over ambitious production, full of horns and 1940’s styled piano riffs. “The piano-driven jazz sample sounds great while RETRO and his crew definitely deliver in terms of flow, ad-libs and humor,” says PotholesInMyBlog.

HUGE GIVEAWAY BY KALIPER MEDIA
As part of our official launch, Kaliper Media is giving away a package of an Ipad Mini and a Go Pro Hero 3 camera
Kaliper Media has officially launched today as a film distribution and PR company, with a very different approach. The company has a unique business model, that lends itself more to representing the clients it serves, than flooding an already strained marketplace with more product. “We exist to represent outstanding filmmakers, and make sure their work is seen and heard.” Operations Officer Russell Thome explains the company’s impetus. “Simply put, we do three things for each filmmaker we work with. 1. Through an Apple approved encoding house and distribution partner, we encode and digitally distribute to every major digital outlet. We begin with Itunes and Netflix. 2. We build and publish an app for the film. Each app includes the films synopsis, trailer, facebook info, twitter info, and cast and crew info. Each will be available for free on ITunes and Google Play. As reviews, awards, and screenings mount for the film, the app will be updated, and each time, everyone holding it will get a push notification. 3. We will execute a three month PR campaign for the film.”

NEW ALBUM BY ICICLE
Seasoned multi-genre musician Krassy Halatchev lays new ground as Icicle with Resurgence, due for release September 21. The solo debut contains entirely original compositions. It bounces between rock and pop; accessible and innovative; open and defiant. Bright and multi-layered sounds fill the 51-minute album, created during an unusually intense period for the artist.
Halatchev has charmed Canadian and international audiences for over two decades, following his defection from communist Bulgaria with the band The Clouds. From 1996 to 2012, he was a core member of the Montreal-based band Chiwawa. While Resurgence marks his first solo and most personal album, his collaborative spirit brought him to work with Florida based writer Joel Jenkins, who wrote lyrics for many of the songs. “Morning Bells,” the album’s first single and closing track, draws on a text by Halatchev’s partner Antonia Gueorguieva.

NEW SINGLE BY VOW
LA duo Vow are premiering their second single “Charm” on Wondering Sound. The site calls the track, “…a slow-smolder torch song, a blue valentine where expressions of devotion are delivered with dramatic intensity — it’s love, but it sounds like longing. At times, “Charm” sounds like a kind of retro-futurist R&B… like a sci-fi nightclub singer delivering a doomy lullaby to the boozy 3 a.m. crowd.”

NEW ALBUM BY MODEST MIDGET
Multi-Polar Music & Modest Midget are THRILLED to announce the release of Crysis, September 28th this year. Produced by Lonny (Lionel) Ziblat – singer, guitarist, composer and front-man of the group – this new album illustrates life, portrayed as a cycle consisting of several inner cycles. Each time that such a cycle ends, another one starts, and these movements are often frightening, painful and traumatic, but they also offer a chance for change and for growth. Joining forces in the line-up are Tristan Hupe (keyboards), Maarten Bakker (bass guitar / keyboards) & Willem Smid (drums). Like in the case of the 1st album, the group is supported by a reinforcement of top guest musicians.
The recording of the album commenced in December 2012, right about the time that the world was supposed to end (at least according to some). In the midst of historic, economic, social and climatic upheaval, Modest Midget reflect their own interpretation of different occasions and experiences that play a role in our lives. Delivering their message through this concept album they wish to celebrate the diversity of different chapters and moods which eventually constitute an individual’s life.
